The set of below verses from Daivagya Vallbha offers a framework for understanding how celestial forces (planets or other divine entities) are interpreted in astrology. It emphasizes that their strength, weakness, position, and other states significantly influence whether an outcome will be positive or negative. The divine invocation in the first shloka suggests that the process of astrological interpretation is sacred and requires the guidance of powerful cosmic forces. The remaining verses explain the mechanics of astrological interpretation, classifying celestial bodies into various conditions that determine the eventual outcomes.

नत्वोद्गिरन्तमनलं भैरवमद्वैतमीश्वरं नृहरिम्।
वराहेणैषा क्रियते प्रश्ने दैवज्ञवल्लभारचना॥

This shloka invokes powerful deities such as Bhairava, Narasimha, and Varaha, each representing different aspects of cosmic energy, destruction, and protection. It suggests that the divine or supernatural forces are called upon when making astrological inquiries. The verse highlights the act of asking a question (प्रश्न) and implies that the arrangement or response to the query will be guided by divine wisdom, much like how a skilled astrologer interprets the influences of the cosmos.

दीप्ताद्यं दशभेदं व्योमचराणां निरूप्य भावफलम्।
पृष्टो यद्यत्कथयति शुभाशुभं तत्तदन्यथा नोक्तम्॥

This verse describes the tenfold classification of the celestial bodies (vyomachara), and how the various conditions (like "दीप्त" - radiant, "दीन" - dejected, etc.) of these bodies result in auspicious (शुभ) or inauspicious (अशुभ) outcomes. When an astrologer (or divine authority) is asked a question, the interpretation of the celestial influences will be in accordance with these conditions. The verse emphasizes that whatever is predicted, whether positive or negative, is based on these specific astrological configurations and does not deviate from this framework.

दीप्तो दीनः स्वस्थो मुदितः सुप्तः प्रपीडितो मुषितः।
परिहीयमानवीर्यः प्रवृद्धवीर्योऽधिवीर्यश्च॥

This shloka describes various states of celestial beings or forces:

दीप्त (radiant): In a state of brilliance and strength.
दीन (dejected): Weak or subdued.
स्वस्थ (stable): In a balanced and neutral state.
मुदित (joyous): In a favorable and content state.
सुप्त (sleeping): Inactive or dormant.
प्रपीडित (oppressed): Overcome by negative forces.
मुषित (robbed): Deprived of strength or influence.
परिहीयमानवीर्य (diminishing strength): Losing power gradually.
प्रवृद्धवीर्य (increasing strength): Gaining power.
अधिवीर्य (superior strength): At the peak of strength and influence.
These conditions describe how the different planets or celestial forces influence outcomes, depending on whether they are gaining or losing strength.

स्वोच्चे दीप्तो नीचे दीनः स्वगृहे व्यवस्थितः स्वस्थः।
मुदितो मित्रगृहस्थो रिपुगेहस्थो भवेत्सुप्तः॥

This verse further explains the different states of celestial beings based on their positions in the zodiac or houses:

दीप्त (radiant) when they are in their exaltation (स्वोच्चे).
दीन (dejected) when they are in their debilitation (नीचे).
स्वस्थ (stable) when they are in their own house (स्वगृहे).
मुदित (joyous) when they are in a friendly house (मित्रगृहस्थो).
सुप्त (dormant) when they are in an enemy's house (रिपुगेहस्थो).
This verse emphasizes that the positions of celestial bodies in different zodiac signs or houses affect their strength and influence, leading to varying outcomes in predictions.
