A little look back at some of the making, mixing, squishing, painting and experimenting that’s happened in past sessions.

Sparc Club Term 3 🎨

Here’s what our Sparc Club kids will be exploring over the rest of Term 3.

From dreamy silhouettes and tree houses to cyanotype printing, curious creatures, street art and Matisse inspired pattern, each session begins with a new creative invitation and plenty of room for children to take it in their own direction.

Sparc Club is for school-aged kids who are naturally drawn to making, imagining and experimenting. There’s no step-by-step artwork to copy and no pressure for everyone to make the same thing.

I bring the materials, techniques and starting point. They bring the ideas.

What are we exploring at Art Play? 🎨

Every Art Play session begins with a different creative investigation.

Across the program we’ll create, construct, discover, observe, reflect, imagine and investigate through colour, construction, the natural world, self portraits, wild creatures, printing and more.

Each investigation gives us a starting point, but not a prescribed outcome. Children can explore the materials, techniques and ideas in their own way.

Some children will be drawn to colour. Others will want to build. Some will love looking closely at the natural world, while another child might be waiting for the week we invent wild creatures.

You can choose the sessions that spark your child’s curiosity.

I had so much fun bringing our “Is it Cake?” creative session to the children and families and watching all the different ideas come to life. There were so many delicious cakes being created 🎂

Art Play is here! 🎨

If you remember Kinder Art or Mini Makers, you might notice something a little different at Sparc.

Kinder Art has grown into Art Play, our weekly creative program for children aged 2–5, with their parent or carer alongside them.

The new name feels much more like what happens in the room.

Art Play isn’t about sitting down to make the same craft or trying to get something to look “right”. Each session begins with a creative idea to investigate. I introduce children to interesting materials, techniques and possibilities, then give them the freedom to see where their curiosity takes them.

They might paint, build, print, sculpt, mix, pull something apart or completely surprise me with something I hadn’t thought of.

I provide the invitation. They decide what happens next.

And our first Art Play sessions begin tomorrow! 🌈

🎂✨ Is it cake...? Well... not quite! 😄

We're so excited to be joining our friends at Saltbush Child & Family Centre to celebrate their 2nd Birthday with a colourful creative experience for little makers and their grown-ups. 🥳

Together we'll be exploring:

🍰 Cardboard Cake Decorating – decorate your own slice using pom poms, ribbons, collage materials and plenty of imagination before adding it to our giant community birthday cake.

🧁 Muffin Tray Monoprinting – a playful printmaking activity where little hands can roll, stamp, squish and discover colourful cupcake-inspired prints.

This is a gentle, open-ended art experience designed especially for young children, where there's no right or wrong way to create, only lots of opportunities to explore, play and celebrate together.

A few places have become available for Sparc Club this afternoon in Kingston Beach.

Sparc is designed for children who love creating, exploring ideas, and making things in their own way.

Rather than following a set craft, children are invited to experiment with materials, follow their curiosity, and create something uniquely theirs.

It’s the kind of session for kids who lose track of time when they’re making, building, drawing, imagining, and exploring.
