DUAL STAR OAKBUD “Oaky”
2018 First Cross Stock Horse Gelding
C1-256251 - Aproxx 15hh.

By Talafa Rey Dox out of McDonalds Stud Stardust, Oaky is a genuine, easy-going gelding with the experience and temperament to suit someone looking for a versatile competition horse.

Oaky has done extensive mustering and campdrafting, with a small amount of cutting, and has also attended Challenge events. He is a well-rounded gelding that has seen plenty of miles and is ready to step straight onto the truck and into his next home.

Soft and kind to handle, he’s happy to be ridden ba****ck in a halter and is a pleasure to have around. He’s easy to catch, shoe, rug, truck, and float, making him a fuss-free horse both at home and away.

If you’re looking for a sensible, experienced gelding that’s ready to go and enjoy, Oaky is well worth your inspection.

Benny 💙 | 14.3hh, 4-year-old gelding with a great foundation and plenty of potential.

He’s been to a handful of campdrafts for outings and has travelled well both on a float and truck. Done miles in the hills tailing and working cattle in open paddocks. Benny has been started on cattle and has also worked a bag.

Well exposed through general riding, including trail rides along busy roads, through creeks and bushland, both alone and in groups.

He’s a very sensible gelding, and has been ridden out on the trails by kids as young as 10.

Benny is a genuinely quiet young horse with a bright future ahead. He has had a soft, sensible preparation and is showing a lot of promise.

He would suit someone looking for a quality young horse to bring along.

Another fantastic weekend at the Proston Golden Spurs! 🤠✨

Spinning Down, owned by Greenview Farming led the Restricted Open with a 90 coming away with 2nd after a run-off and taking out the cut out.

Xs & Os owned by Brett Hanly had her very first start with us this weekend, just missing out on the Maiden Final but ran an 89 in the first round of the Novice and going on to place equal 7th/8th.

Jacky Don Tucker won the cut out in the Novice, while Smooth Spin came through again for me finaling in the Ladies, with Call Girl just missing out by a point.

Abigail had her very first Mini’s run on Call Girl and if only you could bottle the smile on her face! 💕

Will was a little unlucky in the Junior, just missing out on a place, but still did a cracking job on Charlie Brown.

Lainee is absolutely loving her western run with Nan and came away with Champion Junior Rider Under 13! 🏆

We were very lucky to have Troy M Burgess with us again this weekend at Proston. His work is truly second to none, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the time and effort he puts into our horses.

A huge thank you to the Proston Committee for a wonderful weekend, and to everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes. Putting these events together is no small feat, and we’re so grateful to be able to do what we love.

And of course, thank you to the cattle donors who make it all possible! 👏

Kilkivan Campdraft was a Mother’s Day to remember. 💕

Smooth Spin picked me up a 3rd in the 3 Round Open - again, always giving it her all for me.

Brad & Spinning Down owned by Greenview Farming placed 4th in the Open.

Charlie Brown running an 87 was feeling just a bit too good in the Restricted thanks to Troy M Burgess. Spinning Down running an 87 as well, both just missing out on a place.

We are so grateful to have had Troy there for the weekend, checking up on our horses and making sure everyone was feeling their best.

Troy will be heading to Proston Campdraft 22nd–24th May, so if you missed out on getting your horses looked over, make sure you’re booked in for Proston!

A huge thank you to the Kilkivan Campdraft Committee for running such an incredible weekend, and to all of the volunteers, backyard workers, cooks and office staff. It’s definitely one of our favourite drafts.

Thank you also to Saxby Feedlot & the Atthow Family for generously donating the wonderful cattle we got to draft on in the Open and all of the other cattle donors. ✨

What a weekend! ✨ Brad & Charlie Brown took out the Open at Widgee! This win was incredibly special to us.

Charlie is such a big part of our family - the very first horse we ever bred together. He is a true credit to Brad and i’m endlessly proud of them both. ❤️

Jacky Don Tucker had a couple of cracking rounds, winning the cut out and equal top score in the first round of the Novice. Unfortunately, a small injury put him out for the rest of the weekend - but as always, horses before the sport.

My little Smooth Spin never lets me down, so proud of her finaling in the Open.

None of this would be possible without the incredible work of Troy M Burgess and everything he does to keep our horses feeling their best. We’ve seen firsthand the talent he brings and the genuine improvements in our own horses.

Troy specialises in the realignment of ligaments and tendons, as well as spinal and joint manipulation, helping restore balance, comfort, and optimal movement.

We are incredibly grateful to come on board as part of Troy & Nicole’s sponsored rider team.

Troy will be available for treatments this week at Baker Family Equine and at Kilkivan Campdraft this coming weekend.

Thank you to the Widgee Campdraft Committee, cattle donors, sponsors, and competitors for a fantastic event. 🐎✨
