He has a solid foundation behind him, including mustering experience and one campdraft start where he narrowly missed his gate. While campdrafting is certainly an option, we think he could really find his place in two-handed cutting, challenges, team penning or similar competitive disciplines.

Yarrawa Sergeant has been started, trained and campaigned by a lady, and has been brought along patiently and correctly from the beginning. As a young horse he had extensive showing and challenge experience, collecting numerous wins and placings before progressing into campdrafting.

Sergeant has since had extensive campdraft experience, with plenty of scores in the mid to high 80s, and is a genuine competitive horse ready to continue on with.

One of his greatest attributes is just how easy he is to campaign. He’s the type you can put on the truck, head away and enjoy. He comes back into work better than he goes out and doesn’t require weeks of preparation to get him back on the job.

He is straightforward to have around, easy to do everything with and has been a much-loved member of the family.

A wonderful two weeks away at Millmerran & The Congress, campdrafting some exceptional cattle and enjoying two fantastic events.

Millmerran
Will was the star of the show, with him and Charlie Brown taking out the Junior with an absolutely cracking run.

Smooth Spin also picked me up a 3rd in the Ladies.

From there we moved on to The Congress - and what an event it was. The crew put on an incredible show, with a magic atmosphere and some seriously good competition.

Charlie Brown came away equal 3rd/4th in the Open, Royalle Blonde Bombshell was equal 3rd/4th in the Novice, and Jacky Don Tucker put together a wonderful run in the Stallion Draft to finish a very creditable 2nd by one point against some of the best stallions in the country.

Our little Abbi also had her moment, taking out Best Presented Horse & Rider Combination in the Mini Challenge. She was very proud of herself - and so were we!

We were also incredibly proud of Deliah Yesberg, taking out the Junior Draft win at The Congress. Brad has been mentoring Deliah this season, and it has been so rewarding to watch her confidence grow. To see her put it all together and come away with the win was pretty special.

While we were away, Lainee headed home to Nan for the Noosa Show and was lucky enough to come away with a win in one of her jumping classes against some strong competition. A pretty great effort from her and another proud moment for us.

A huge thank you to both committees for having us, and to all of the cattle donors, sponsors, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who makes events like these possible. We’re incredibly appreciative of the time and effort that goes into putting them together.

And a special thank you to our sponsor Troy M Burgess, who made it back in time for The Congress and gave our horses some much-needed treatments before the event. They all felt fantastic, and the results certainly speak for themselves.
