IN THE EMBRACE ✺ This morning I was blessed and humbled to witness, and hold space for the dear souls who made a conscious choice to show up and Practise… even in the midst of personal sadness, physical discomfort and all that was arising from their own unique and very recent and raw experiences.
In the midst of it all, they still chose the support of their Practice.
For me, this is the heart of Yoga in action. This is what it means to ‘embrace the fullness of Life’ ~ in all it’s unexpectedness, challenges, discomfort, grief, sadness… and joys. This is what it means to be wholeheartedly present, with all that is arising… and to know and feel and trust that the living, embodied wisdom and precious gifts of Yoga, Breath, gentle Self-Inquiry, fierce Compassion, Love, Understanding and Community, will guide us, support us and carry us. Always.
We can choose to embrace and be embraced in return. We can choose to be fully present in the lap of Life.
We are held.
Ultimately, this is why we practise. To wake up! To fully realise our essential Nature… in all it’s liberating nakedness! There is no separation.
And, it’s this willingness to be open and receptive that manifests as the Heart of Yoga in action. To not turn away… but instead, to turn towards, stay curious, and embody the moment-to-moment FRESHNESS of this precious life unfolding… and all that it brings.
This is what I witnessed this morning… with deep gratitude and love 🙏🏼

༄ ENTERING THE STREAM ༄ The river of Yoga is deep and wide, and full of fresh experiences in every moment! • While exploring off the beaten track with dear friends in Kerala, we spent precious time immersed in Nature – relaxing and meditating by the beauty of Her rivers. ༄ At times, I lowered myself into the freshness and flow, floating within the STREAM OF AWARENESS. Water on skin, sunlight on water, birdsong and friendship… fringed by the mysteries of the Keralan jungle, under the vastness of the sky...
And, sometimes, just sitting by the river was enough.
OM Shanti, Mardi 🌿

• Part 3 • AWARENESS IN ACTION 🌿
Of course, the wholistic teachings of Yoga also remind us, that we’re not ‘only’ this precious physical Body! • However, these timeless teachings also clearly point to why embodying our INNER LANDSCAPE is the perfect place to begin, to understand ourselves – and all of Life – a little more.
In Classes and Personal Sessions over recent months, we’ve been exploring certain Asana (Yoga Postures) more deeply, and this has naturally brought up questions and INSIGHTS from students and friends. • In all instances, these observations have come from feeling into the Body, and developing a SUBTLE AWARENESS of what is aligning, lengthening, opening, expanding, contracting, supporting, releasing...
Students are noticing how they’re feeling as they move, and while they are ‘still’. They’re noticing the energetic (Pranic) qualities that arise during and after each posture, and THE FLOW in between. They’re noticing thought patterns, emotions and the quiet aliveness of Breath.
And, as each Asana is mindfully (and playfully!) explored, this NATURAL CURIOSITY and Embodied Wisdom continues to flower and unfold… 🌿🙏🏼
Over the coming days I’ll continue to share a little more about Embodied Asana – and how this SEED OF YOGA can help us embrace the fullness of Life – with more awareness, clarity and joy.
If you have any thoughts, experiences or questions you'd like to share, I’d love to hear from you! ✨

• Part 2 • A POWERFUL GIFT 🌿
From the perspective of Hatha Yoga, we experience the Body as a wonderful gift – a powerful and precious INNER REALM for understanding ourselves, and our wider relationship with all of Life. Not to mention a direct conduit for enhancing our innate health and healing, cultivating our vital Life Energy (Prana), and embodying a lasting experience of harmony and WHOLISTIC Wellbeing.
Rather than identifying with the Body (in a negative way), we learn to embrace, and DEEPLY INHABIT our Body with equanimity, mindfulness and whole-hearted gratitude – welcoming all that it is. In this way, our Body can become one of our greatest teachers. Because, in reality, it actually is! 🙏🏼
Over the coming days I’ll be sharing a little more about Embodied Asana – and how this SEED OF YOGA can help us embrace the fullness of Life – with more awareness, clarity and joy.

• EMBODY YOGA AND EMBRACE LIFE! • Part 1 🌿
Our Body is always in the present moment. So is our Breath. However, it’s often our Mind that is elsewhere – absorbed in past memories, or future plans. As a result, we can sometimes move through life feeling disconnected – from our Body, and ourselves.
The practice of Hatha Yoga invites us to RECONNECT. To directly experience the freedom of the Present Moment – through the amazing and intuitive wisdom of our own Body-Mind, and the practice of EMBODIED ASANA (the physical postures of Yoga).
Over the years, we may have developed a particular, limited ‘view’ of our Body – how it appears or looks, or how it functions (or doesn’t); or, what it seemingly can or can’t do. Yoga invites us to look again. To feel into our physical sense of self, from a totally different perspective. Without judgement, without competing, Yoga invites us to begin from wherever we are... 🙏🏼
Over the coming days I’ll be sharing a little more about Embodied Asana – and how this SEED OF YOGA can help us embrace the fullness of Life – with more awareness, clarity and joy.
If you have any thoughts, experiences or questions you'd like to share, I’d love to hear from you! ✨

• BRINGING YOGA TO LIFE •
Once again, I'm struck by how powerful and profound this precious and wholistic Practice is! By simply being willing to explore and 'be with' whatever is arising in a curious and embodied way, opens us up to a natural ease and inner Aliveness... where we can begin to inhabit ourselves fully. WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
Yoga is a direct, lived experience ~ moment to moment... and it gives me great joy to feel that inner truth and trust within myself ~ and to also see it manifesting and unfolding in the dear souls who I'm blessed to share the Practice with!
It's a beautiful dance of RECIPROCITY and community. • A slow, joyful growing into our essential Nature and what it means to be fully human on this precious Earth. • Jai Maa! ✨
