Poodle Club NSW

and is a member of The National Poodle Council. The Club conducts two Speciality Championship Shows and one Obedience Trial each year. If possible an overseas specialist judge is used for one of the Shows and an Australian judge for the second. Members of the general public (without their dogs) are welcome to come and watch the activities. The Poodle Club of NSW was instrumental in the re newel of the National Poodle Council and the first National Championship Show was held in Sydney in 1988. Since this time we have hosted two other Nationals in NSW in 2001 and in 2007. Planning has already commenced for the next NSW National in 2013. It is anticipated that Poodles and their owners will come from every state of Australia to take part in this major event. Over the years the Club has held grooming and training days and has participated in Pet Expos and other pet related events. The Obedience members have successfully competed in such events as the Inter Club Obedience Challenge. During the past fifty years, the members of the Club have endeavoured to improve the health of all Poodles. They have embraced the technological changes that have taken place and are using such methods as DNA testing to further improve their breeding stock. It is the commitment (in time, money and research) of responsible breeders to the breeding of healthy Poodles which allows companion, conformation and performance Poodles to enjoy long and happy lives. health care. To share advice with those who wished to train and show their Poodles. To mentor those who wished to breed Poodles. To hold shows with classes for conformation and obedience.
