2M have been working their magic during mathematics this semester! Students have been learning to use their knowledge of number lines and partitioning numbers to solve addition and subtraction problems. We have also been experimenting with different measuring tools and informal units to compare, order and record the mass of different objects in our classroom. Students have been using colourful shapes to successfully create patterns that have a repeating core.
What wonderful ‘math-a-magicians’ we have in 2M!

RHPS ~ First Responders Day 2026

What a fantastic day we had celebrating Thank a First Responder Day at our school! Students came dressed as a variety of first responders, including a firefighter, police officer and an army combat officer. Throughout the day, we learned about the important roles first responders play in keeping our communities safe and how they help people in times of need. To show our appreciation, students created personalised thank-you cards for the team at Castle Hill Ambulance Station, expressing gratitude for their dedication and service to our community. It was a fun and engaging day filled with learning, creativity and appreciation. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and loved recognising the everyday heroes who make such a difference in our lives.

In Term 2, 2H students have been actively participating and learning across all areas. During mathematics, students have been learning to collect and interpret data, measure the area of shapes, and represent 2- and 3-digit numbers using place value. This term in English has been informative and has allowed us to explore different cultures. We read ‘Niaan the Chinese New Year Dragon’, which enriched our understanding of Chinese traditions and connected with our Mandarin lessons. After that, we read ‘The Boy Who Tried to Shrink His Name’. In writing, students created recounts based on the stories they read. In sport, students are enjoying taking part in the Be Skilled Be Fit program. They are building their athletics skills through a variety of fun games and activities, which supported their participation in the K-2 Athletics Fun Day.

KSN have had another wonderful term! We have been busy learning how to read and write, enjoying segmenting and blending words and using verbs to make our writing more interesting. We are becoming clever mathematicians and have loved learning how to add and take away. This term, we also explored data by investigating what everyone had for Crunch & Sip and then creating a graph to show our results. In visual arts, we have enjoyed making craft that matched our new phonemes, including ducks, fish and muffins. It has been wonderful to see our creativity shine while connecting our artwork to our literacy learning. We have also been attending Be Skilled Be Fit lessons each Friday, where we have been practising our fundamental movement skills. One of the highlights was having a go at high jump. Our little legs tried so hard, and we were very proud of our efforts! KSN have had a fantastic term full of learning, creativity and fun, and we are looking forward to all the exciting adventures next term will bring, including Kindergarten celebrating 100 days of school!
