Rouse Hill Public School NSW
Department of Education Public School Rouse Hill Public School is a K-6 Primary School located in north-west Sydney.
The school currently has 780 children enrolled with 34 classes. Our learning community works together with the view that our central focus remains on strengthening in each child: independence; citizenship; honesty; and excellence. We aim to produce global citizens who are prepared for the future.

What an exciting and busy term of learning it’s been for KG. In English, students have been working in small groups to explore their letter-sound knowledge, tricky words, handwriting and fine motor skills through a variety of fun and engaging activities. In mathematics, they’ve enjoyed collecting and comparing data, with a highlight being the creation of colourful skittle graphs. During sport, the children have been full of energy and enthusiasm as they take part in the school’s Sports in Schools program, developing their coordination, teamwork, and confidence. One of the most special parts of the week is spending time with their Year 6 buddies in 6G, a time filled with smiles, shared stories, and meaningful connections.

Stage 3 Community Event
This week, on Wednesday, Stage 3 had a great afternoon with their families designing and building marble runs. There was lots of creative thinking shown and lots of excellent marble runs made. Thank you to our special visitors for coming to help us!

1P made a smooth transition to their new learning space in the old 2HN classroom and quickly settled into routines. We’ve been exploring positional language in literacy and numeracy through fun, hands-on activities like barrier games, which helped us practise clear instructions. We always look forward to Be Skilled Be Fit, where we build our strength, balance, and coordination through active play. In Visual Arts, we loved creating beautiful leaf-print bowls with clay - a fun project that brought nature into the classroom!

The students of 2M have thoroughly enjoyed exploring a range of mathematical concepts this term and are well on their way to becoming confident mathematicians! We’ve discovered that maths is truly everywhere. This term, we focused on place value and learned how to partition 2-, 3-, and 4-digit numbers, one of our favourite activities, especially when using mini whiteboards and MAB blocks. We also developed our understanding of arrays and how to represent them through pictures and repeated addition. To finish off the semester, we had an absolute blast hosting the final Year 2 assembly! We proudly performed a special song and dance to “Reach for the Stars”, which was a wonderful celebration of our learning and teamwork. What a fantastic time we’ve had in Year 2 so far! We’re excited for all the new learning, friendships, and fun that await us for the remainder of the year.

Year 4 Zoo Snooze Day 1 …. So much fun to be had!!!

This term has been full of fun and learning in 5B! From hands-on mathematics challenges, creative poetry writing and engaging class discussions, our students have shown incredible focus and enthusiasm. We have also had several students meet their numeracy and literacy goals, which they have been working towards since Term 1. 5B students have enjoyed collaborating on group projects, exploring new topics, building confidence in public speaking and participating in sport and creative arts. It’s been a joy to watch each student shine.

In 3V, we have been exploring the book Wandi during our English lessons. The class has been enjoying this book and incorporating digital technologies into our learning. We have been exploring persuasive writing and here the students are creating their own posters on how they can help others and raise awareness to save the dingos. Students are learning how to utilise helpful online platforms, such as Canva. 3V created some awesome posters!
