There wasn’t a dramatic reason or a final fight.
Just an inner knowing I couldn’t stay another day.
I lived in a remote town, a 17 hour drive from 'home'.
Nowhere to disappear. Teenage kids.
I left anyway.
Not because I didn’t care. Oh geez, I cared so much about my energy, my future, the woman I was slowly disappearing from and my daughters.
Then something happened that shattered the whole story.
Made me question if I’d done the right thing, even though I knew it was the only thing I could’ve done.
It didn’t feel like freedom, it was like being stuck between grief and self-trust, just trying to keep going.
Here’s what I know now…
Some choices don’t have clean endings.
Truth doesn’t always come with validation and yet it doesn’t make it less true.
Choosing yourself doesn’t guarantee a neat and tidy timeline. It just means you stop waiting for devastation to make your decisions for you.
And sometimes, the ripple you’ll never see is the one that saves someone else.
If you’re in that space between knowing and doing… that’s what I've built the The Reconnection Series for.
You don’t have to name it yet. You just have to start.
I don’t write this for sympathy. I write it because too many brilliant women are still asking themselves...
‘But is it bad enough to leave?’
