Karoonda Area School Karoonda Area School is an R-12 School which prides itself on its positive ethos. Lessons are delivered through face-to-face teaching, Open Access and ICT.

We value student education and through collaboration and connected learning, we empower every student to grow and reach both personal and academic success, becoming resilient leaders in the community. Programs are tailored to suit the needs of individual students, and include vocation

al and educational training, school-based apprenticeships, university and TAFE pathways. The school's farm supports the agriculture program that involves sheep, poultry, cropping and fruit growing on a small scale. Other specialist areas are home economics, technical studies, art and physical education.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day 🌏

A time to recognise the contributions of autistic people in our communities and those who provide support.

In South Australia, every public primary school is supported by an Autism Inclusion Teacher (AIT).

AITs play a vital role in creating inclusive learning environments by:
🌟 supporting children and young people with autism to have the best start to their schooling
🌟 sharing their expertise with fellow educators to strengthen inclusive teaching practices
🌟 helping schools implement approaches that support wellbeing, communication and learning

Through ongoing professional learning and collaboration with families, educators and the broader community, AITs are helping ensure every student is supported to thrive.
