Local Korean Karate school which focusses on teaching Soo Bahk Do. Classes include Technique and Phi
Perth Soo Bahk Do is a martial arts school, but more so a community of kids, teens, adults and instructors all coming together to learn about how to apply the valuable lessons this Korean art has to give in their daily lives. We are a supportive community where everyone feels appreciated and included in their own right. We build stronger bodies and minds through positive encouragement and we lead by example. Whether you are 5 or 50+ years old, we know you will benefit from our classes.

📅 IMPORTANT DATES AHEAD 📅
A few key dates coming up that you need to know about:
This Saturday - Belt ceremony for Paul French. We'll be celebrating his achievement and progress. Great work, Paul.
Next Thursday - Special class at Kardinya Dojang. We'll be connecting with interstate visitors, so bring your energy and make them feel welcome on our floor.
Saturday 30 May & Monday 1 June - No classes at Kardinya Dojang due to the Australian National Camp (ANC).
Mark these down. We'll see you there.
📋 TIP GRADING 📋
Recently we had our tip grading - a chance to check in on where everyone's at and prepare for our upcoming grading cycle.
Whether you're getting ready to test soon or you're a senior who won't grade for a few years, this is about the same thing: constant improvement. We use these check-ins to see what's progressing, what needs more work, and where to focus our training moving forward.
It's not about being perfect. It's about showing us you're putting in the work, pushing yourself, and committed to getting better.
This is how we grow. This is how we keep the standard high.

🌍 WHAT A WEEK IN SPAIN 🌍
The Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa week in Spain - that's the kind of experience that reminds you why we do this.
Connecting with practitioners from around the world, sharing knowledge, pushing each other to grow - this is what keeps our art vibrant and alive. The training was intense, the learning was deep, and the connections we made will carry forward.
A huge congratulations to Alan Scott SBN on his testing. Watching him step up and give everything he had - that's what commitment looks like. Amazing job.
This week was about more than just technique. It was about our global community coming together, supporting each other, and strengthening the lineage we're all privileged to be part of.
Grateful for every moment of it.

🌏 CONNECTING ACROSS THE WORLD 🌏
Today we're reconnecting with our international friends as the Spanish Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa begins.
There's something special about these moments - practitioners from different corners of the world coming together, sharing the same art, the same values, the same commitment to growth. The conversations, the training, the learning that happens when we connect like this - it reminds me why our lineage matters.
We'll be learning much and training hard alongside our global community. This is what keeps our art alive and growing.
Always a pleasure to see everyone again. Let's make the most of this opportunity.

👥 KEEPING OUR STUDENTS SAFE 👥
Last session our instructors came together to focus on something that underpins everything we do - safety.
When students walk onto our floor, they trust us. They trust that we'll push them to grow while keeping them protected. That we'll create challenges that build them up, not break them down. That responsibility is something we take seriously.
Our instructors trained on how to ensure every student - from our newest white belt to our most senior Yu Dan Ja / Ko Dan Ja - can train with confidence, knowing they're in good hands.
This is the foundation that lets growth happen. This is what makes our dojang a place where people can push their limits safely.
We've got you. Always.

🏆 WHAT A TOURNAMENT 🏆
Saturday was exactly what our tournaments are meant to be.
The courage it took for each of you to step up - whether you were presenting a form you'd only just learned or standing in front of that table of judges - that's what I'm proud of. You challenged yourselves. You gave it everything. And the energy in the room, everyone supporting each other through it, that's what makes this community special.
A special thank you to our Ko Dan Ja for their presentations. Watching them demonstrate set the picture for our students of what commitment and excellence look like.
Every single one of you did your absolute best. That's what counts! That's what builds something worth being part of.
Well done, everyone.
Soo Bahk!

🤝 WE LIFT EACH OTHER UP 🤝
This is what our dojang is built on.
It doesn't matter how big or small you are, how strong or how flexible, how long you've been training or if you just started. What matters is that we show up for each other.
When you help someone stretch a bit further, hold a paddle steady, or encourage a fellow student through a tough technique - that's the real training. That's what builds a community worth being part of.
We all have something to give. We all have something to learn. And we're all looking after each other on this journey.
That's how we grow together.
🥋 BUILDING POWER AND PRECISION 🥋
Watching our students work side kicks against the paddles last Thursday - this is where technique and strength develops.
It's not just about the technique. It's about feeling that resistance, pushing through it, and building the power that makes your kicks count. Every strike against the paddle teaches your body something new about balance, commitment, and force.
This is how we grow. One kick at a time, supporting each other through the work.
Keep building, everyone.
