Last year I finished up work as a Graphic Designer to be a full-time mum but once a creative always a creative so I began designing from home. My son inspires most of what you see be it decorative or educational. Creativity, fun, edu

Kia ora, hello!!

How is everybody?? 🖤🤍❤️

I'll start by saying I'm not back to doing Te Koha mahi but as Māori Language Week is approaching I wanted to reshare some resources I made for my babies and yours!

Some of these are about 7 years old now and I still get requests for their downloads from schools, businesses and community groups. Every time I get the notification it brings back warm memories of my time doing this work and warm memories of my babies being that small 👶👶👶 👩‍🍼 .

I hope everyone is well. I got to know so many people on their reo journeys like me and I'm sure we are all still on that journey 🌿

Our language has flourished and will continue to do so!

Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori 🖤🤍❤️

Ake ake ake - A Forever Language 🖤🤍❤️

What a great resource ❤

🗣❤👂 DAY FIVE OF MAAORI LANGUAGE WEEK SHARESIES 🗣❤👂

The Drops App.

Drops is a popular language learning app that uses basic graphics, words and audio to help a user learn up to 2000 Māori words.

According to linguists that is enough to learn 80 to 90% of a language but I can't comment on that, I'm a smigent skeptical 🤔

Heoi ano I've included it for a few reasons.

1. Again it's easy to use throughout my day. I don't need a dedicated chunk of time as the free version offers five minutes of learning per day and the paid version, 15 minutes per day.

2. Our kids are learning by osmosis. They've already figured out Māmā has a new 'game' on her phone and they're keen as. They're 5 and 3 so I help them a little but I'm already starting to see them pick up the pronunciation and I can see them improve each time.

3. It covers a wide range of topics from food & drinks to science & wisdom. It's all mostly nouns though so you're not gonna get in depth learning such as grammar but it's a good place to start.

4. They have a free version. Yup you only get five minutes of learning time a day and there are ads, but it's a good way to try before you buy.
