You’re invited to an evening celebrating creativity, community and our talented young artists from CAPS Kurrawang Primary School!

Browse a wonderful collection of student artwork and handmade creations, with the opportunity to take home something special while supporting Dandelions WA.

There’ll also be a silent auction featuring two original pieces — one created by a Year 6 student and another by a staff member.

All artwork will be available to purchase on the night, please note, we are unable to place items on hold.

𝐀𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞, 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦, 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝.

Light as Voice brings together creative works developed through Science Meets Art: Cameraless Photovoice, where science, art and experimentation come together through camera-free photographic processes.

Using light, chemistry, plant matter, time and touch, students explored scientific ideas through making, testing, observing and experimenting, turning materials into tools for inquiry and creative expression.

And while this exhibition showcases work from across the program, we are proud to have seen this kind of innovative learning happening right here in Kalgoorlie too.

It’s a powerful reminder that education doesn’t have to look one particular way. Whether students are on campus, online, or learning in more unexpected settings, curiosity, creativity and meaningful learning can happen anywhere.

This weekend, the 𝐄𝐆𝐂 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, travelled to Perth to compete in the WA Robotics Playoffs.

Over the last 6 month, 20 Eastern Goldfields College students, coached by Callum Sullivan from Curtin STEM Outreach, Dr Andrew Zint from GUDRH, and Stephen Liddle from EGC, and sponsored by the DPIRD have spent their Wednesday afternoons designing, building, and programming a competition ready robot! Last Thursday they took the robot to Perth and competed in WARP, a massive 3-day interschool robotics competition held at Curtin Bentley. The team placed 20/27 and qualified for the second stage of the competition, a fantastic result for their first year. It was amazing seeing their hard work pay off.

What a fantastic way to celebrate the people who give their time and energy to make a difference in our community!

Our Cheers for Volunteers event brought together Curtin Volunteers, students and community partners to recognise and celebrate the amazing contribution of our volunteers. 🌟

A huge thank you to all our community partners for continuing to provide meaningful opportunities for our students to get involved, connect with the community and make a positive impact.

And, of course, a very special thank you to all our Curtin Volunteers! 🧡 Your time, enthusiasm and commitment are what make these activities possible. It was great to celebrate your contributions and see some well-deserved certificates of appreciation being presented. 👏🏆

Wow! What a full-on three days! As always, “Diggers” and the many sideline events that make up the week offered plenty of opportunities for conversations, both with old friends and new connections, alike.

There were plenty of highlights from the week but here some of our favourites:

A golden night at the Gala Dinner, where we celebrated with Elissa Quinn-Williams (one of our fourth-year undergraduate mining engineering students), as she accepted the 2026 Ray Finlayson Medal for Leadership and Academic Excellence (and took even more photos with The Perth Mint’s record-breaking pure gold bar)!

Hosting the annual Diggers WASM Alumni sundowner at our Grads Hall

Hon Daniel Pastorelli MLA (Minister for Mines, Petroleum and Exploration; Water) visiting our booth on Wednesday morning to learn more about how we’re helping shape the future of the industry

Joe Hockey delivered the Keynote Address at the Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum 2026, sharing his insights with delegates from across the mining industry.

🗺️🎉 N2CKal Mentoring Treasure Hunt – 25 July 2026 💙

What a fantastic day at the New to Curtin Kalgoorlie Mentoring Treasure Hunt! Our Mentors did an amazing job organising and running this fun-filled event, helping new students explore Kalgoorlie, work together, and make new friends. The Treasure Hunt started at WASM and took participants on an adventure around campus and the city.

A huge thank you to all of our mentors for the time, effort, and enthusiasm they put into planning and delivering such a successful event. Your leadership and commitment helped create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our new students.

We're proud of the positive impact our mentors continue to have in building a supportive and connected Curtin Kalgoorlie community. 💛
