🐾💛 We’re proud to give a big shout out to our Gold Sponsor, KPR Automotive, who are currently raising funds for the Cancer Council Australia 50km Dog Walk for Cancer this June!

Their adorable mascot dogs, Lolly and Jack, are swapping backyard patrols for daily walks to help raise money for life-saving cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for families impacted by cancer. 🐶✨

International Women’s Day 💜

Every girl deserves to feel safe, valued and confident to shape her own future. Yet too many women and girls still face barriers, discrimination and violence that prevent true equality.

A more equal world doesn’t happen by chance, it happens when people step up, challenge unfair systems and support the next generation to lead.

Today, a big thank you goes to the incredible Girl Guide Leaders and volunteers who give their time to mentor and empower girls every week. Your guidance helps girls grow into strong, capable young women who know their voices matter.

This International Women’s Day, let’s keep working together to balance the scales and build a fairer future for all. ⚖️💜

🚨 URGENT – Volunteers Needed for Tomorrow’s Bunnings BBQ! 🌭 🚨

We’re almost there, but we still have a few critical volunteer spots left to fill for tomorrow’s Jindalee Girl Guides Bunnings BBQ and we need your help to make sure the day runs smoothly.

If you can spare just a couple of hours, please jump in and grab one of the remaining slots:

🐾 So… what’s a Patrol at Girl Guides? 🐾

At Jindalee Girl Guides your daughter doesn’t just join a unit — she joins a team.

Every unit is split into small groups called Patrols. They’re named after Australian animals, birds and plants — you might find yourself in the Kookaburras, Dolphins, Kangaroos, Galahs, Koalas, Rosellas, Lyrebirds, Possums, Platypus… or even a Waratah or Bluebell!

And yes… once girls are in a patrol, they become very loyal to it 😄

Here’s why we do it:

Guides is girl-led, not adult-run.
The patrol is how girls learn to lead — without it feeling like a lesson.

In their patrol the girls:
✨ choose activities they want to try
✨ plan games and challenges
✨ share responsibilities (including camp jobs!)
✨ solve problems together
✨ support each other to have a go

Older girls can step up as Patrol Leaders and learn how to organise and encourage others. Quieter girls find it easier to speak up in a smaller group. And friendships form quickly because every girl immediately belongs somewhere.

Leaders are still there — but more like coaches — while the girls run the team.

You’ll know it’s working when you hear:
“Our patrol decided…”

That’s confidence growing in real time 💙

🌭 Jindalee Girl Guides Bunnings BBQ – Volunteers Needed! 🌭

Our annual Bunnings Oxley BBQ fundraiser is happening next week and we’re looking for some friendly community helpers!

We only need volunteers to give 2 hours of their time — cooking sausages, serving customers, or helping with set-up/pack-down. Every small bit of help makes a big difference.

Last year this one event raised $3,300, which helped us cover running costs and keep our local Guide Hut open for the girls and the programs we run each week.
