A Fantastic Day of Music!
Our school was buzzing with energy last week as Years 7–12 students took to the stage for a vibrant lunchtime concert, showcasing their talents across guitar, drums, vocals and keyboard.

The momentum continued into the afternoon with a lively Pop & Rock Showcase, bringing together both primary and secondary performers in a celebration of music and collaboration.

Congratulations to all students for their confidence, creativity and teamwork, and thank you to our community for your support.

A special thanks to Dr Pope and Mr Gratton for their outstanding organisation.
A truly inspiring day of music-making!

Slime, laughter, and a powerful cause
On Monday, Zoe Moffitt in Year 8 turned a fun idea into meaningful impact through a “Slime the Teacher Challenge”—raising an impressive $600 for epilepsy research.

Students eagerly contributed for the chance to see a teacher covered in slime, and the event certainly delivered plenty of laughter. More importantly, it demonstrated the strength of student initiative, compassion, and community spirit within our school.

Fundraising efforts like this remind us that when young people are empowered to lead, they can make a genuine difference beyond the classroom. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, empathy, and leadership shown throughout this initiative.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and supported the cause.
Well done to all involved.

Saying goodbye is never easy
Over the past six months, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Aurora from Italy to Hills International College as part of her language, cultural and educational exchange. During her time with us, Aurora has embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, becoming a wonderful ambassador for her country and a much-valued member of our school community.

Reflecting on her experience, Aurora shared that she was initially nervous about speaking English, but "I discovered that people shouldn’t worry about trying, because they won’t be judged; they will be loved.” Her words beautifully capture the inclusive and supportive spirit of our college and students.

Aurora, thank you for sharing your culture, your kindness and your perspective with us. You will always be part of the Hills family, and we wish you every success as you continue your journey.

Safe travels and arrivederci💙

⚽🌧️ On Wednesday 10 June, our Year 5 and 6 students braved wet and rainy conditions at HIA Primary Round 2 soccer at Mount Tamborine.

They played hard, showed great resilience, and narrowly missed a top spot on goal difference. Most importantly, they had a blast in the mud, finishing with dirty shoes and big smiles!

Well done teams, we’re proud of you! 👏

Our Year 12 students recently showed their appreciation for the invaluable work of our administrative team by creating boxes of treats for School Officers Day.

Working alongside Mrs Parer, students prepared a range of delicious goodies, carefully assembling and delivering them to staff across the College. School Officers Day recognises the dedicated individuals working behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly, and this gesture was a meaningful way to say thank you.

It was a thoughtful initiative that was truly appreciated. 💙

🌟 10+ Athletics Carnival Recap – Friday 5 June 🌟
What a fantastic day we had at our 10+ Athletics Carnival! 💛💚❤️💙
The morning certainly kept us on our toes, with some strong winds blowing across the field, but by late morning the conditions settled beautifully, and we were able to enjoy a successful day out in the sunshine.

Our students showed incredible determination and sportsmanship throughout the day, giving their all in every event, supporting each other, and cheering loudly from the sidelines 👏📣. It was wonderful to see such positive attitudes and team spirit on display across all age groups.

A huge congratulations to Uluru, who came away with the win! 🏆 What an outstanding effort!

Thank you to all staff and students who made the day such a success. We are so proud of everyone who participated! 🙌
