Grade 5/6 Canberra Camp Highlights!

What an incredible trip to the capital! Our 5/6 campers explored democracy at Parliament House, saw coins being made at the Royal Australian Mint, paid tribute at the Australian War Memorial, and got hands-on at Questacon - along with so many other great stops along the way.

We want to send an extra special thank you to our incredible teachers, staff, and helpers. Your dedication, care, and teamwork ensured our students were supported through every moment of the trip.

Celebrating Early Childhood Educators Day!

Last Week, our Early Learning Centre came together to celebrate Early Childhood Educators Day in the sweetest way possible!

Our children had a ball helping Pastor John and Pastor Jamie whip up a delicious batch of pancakes for our fantastic Educator team. On top of the treats, our wonderful ELC families showered the staff with heartfelt handmade cards, chocolates, and delicious goodies.

A massive thank you to our educators for everything they do every single day, and to our amazing ELC families and pastors for making them feel so special!

Book Week Parade 2026

A massive round of applause to all our incredible students and parents for an unforgettable Book Week Character Parade!

Thursday’s parade was a brilliant showcase of creativity, and the effort put into every single costume was completely next-level. From classic favourites like the Gruffalo, and Where’s Wally to heroic Bible figures with tea-towel headpieces and handmade robes, seeing our school community go to such great lengths was inspiring!

And let's be honest - we know the real magic happened behind the scenes. To the parents: we saw the last-minute cardboard engineering, the late-night glue-gunning, and the frantic searches for a striped shirt or shepherd's crook. You survived another Book Week costume rush!

Events like this empower our kids to express their unique interests and build a genuine, lifelong joy for reading. Thank you to our brilliant students for showing off your character spirit, and to our parents for being absolute legends behind the scenes.

Your support is what makes our school reading culture so vibrant! 👏

Let’s talk about the Book Week library…

Our library team absolutely outdid themselves for Book Week! To bring the "Catch the Reading Bug" theme to life, they transformed the space into an elaborate, bug-filled reading wonderland.

From crawling paper caterpillars to beautiful butterflies, the decorations turned the library into an irresistible, vibrant hub. Opening up the space for lunchtime and after-school visits made it the ultimate spot for students to explore, hang out, and dive into new stories.

It didn't just look incredible - it excited the kids, had them engaging with books, and proved that the reading bug is officially contagious!

A massive thank you to Miss Kuhl, Mrs De Groot and our creative library team for making such a magical space for our readers. You nailed it! 📚🐛✨

What an incredible Book Week! This year’s "Catch the Reading Bug" theme was a massive hit, and the love for reading was truly contagious across every classroom.

Week Highlights

📚Character Parade: Thursday's parade saw students going to great lengths with their costumes, showcasing their creativity.

📚Library Transformation: The library was specially decorated to match the theme, creating an exciting space for students to explore during lunchtime and after school.

📚Annual Book Fair & Activities: Reading turned into a truly social celebration with colouring competitions, activities, and an uptick in students buying and borrowing books.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Book Week so vibrant!

Tiny Houses, Huge Ideas!

Our high schoolers recently completed an incredible inquiry unit, Tiny by Design - stepping into the shoes of architects, interior designers, and electricians!

To bring their dream tiny homes to life, students worked through the entire design process:

- Researched innovative tiny home designs
- Created vision boards
- Drafted multi-angle floor plans and architectural sketches
- Built 3D physical models from scratch
- Wired working electrical circuits to literally light up their creations!

With a strong focus on sustainability (like incorporating solar energy) and mobility, these models were as eco-friendly as they were clever.

To top it all off, the Year 4 class came through to check out the finished models! They toured the mini-neighbourhood, marvelled at the glowing lights, and asked brilliant questions about how the designs were built.

A huge congratulations to our high school innovators for their hard work, creativity, and impressive craftsmanship!

Our chooks are easily the biggest stars of our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program!

Our feathered friends play such an important role in our garden ecosystem. Through the program, our students love:

🐓Caring for the flock – learning responsibility through feeding, watering, and coop care

🐓Eco-friendly gardening – seeing how the chooks help turn our garden scraps into rich compost

🐓Harvesting fresh eggs – collecting farm-fresh eggs to use directly in our kitchen cooking sessions!

From learning where our food comes from to getting a little extra feathered affection during outdoor time, our kitchen garden program continues to bring hands-on learning to life.

A big thank you to our hardworking student helpers and volunteers who keep our garden blooming and our chooks happy and clucking!
