A Symphony of Stories: KoC Book Week 2026 📚🎶

Instead of travelling the world by plane we journeyed by way of stories and imagination! Across languages, cultures and experiences, the gift of storytelling blend together and unites us in symphony 🩷🌏

Yesterday the children of KoC paraded around the centre with their costumes for Book Week on display! From princesses to hungry caterpillars, Bluey characters to heroes, there was no stone (book page) left unturned for the children to explore.

What’s your favourite story?

Science Week 2026🔬

Our mini KoC scientists had a blast collaborating and exploring all kinds of wonders such as:

🔎 Exploring the effects of painting with ice water and oil!

🔎 Exploring a mandarin’s ability to float: peeled vs unpeeled!

🔎 Exploring static electricity to make a tissue paper butterfly lift its wings with a balloon as well as using a comb with confetti!

🔎 Self-inflating balloons! Using the carbon dioxide created from the mixture bicarb soda and vinegar

🔎 Immersing ourselves with volcanoes!

🔎 Exploring our senses with ice water. Brr! ❄️

🔎 Observing the result of a balloon being released and zipping across a handmade zip-line!

🧠QUIZ TIME🧠
Did the peeled mandarin sink or float during our experiment?

What a fun morning we had! ✨🎉
The 2026 National NAIDOC Week theme is “50 Years of Deadly”, Marking five decades of the NAIDOC, this milestone theme celebrates the resilience, survival, resistance, culture, and pride of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.🖤💛❤️💙💚
After our morning tea we popped on our hats and sunscreen and headed outside for our NAIDOC celebration.🙌 🌟🎈
We enjoyed a fun filled with Aussie- animal guessing book, Aboriginal music with clapping sticks and explored painting, sparkly fish, gum-leaf colouring, and nature animal figurines.
A bright, joyful morning celebrating culture, connection, and community🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🇦🇺🌏

We had a wonderful and energetic day today as we celebrated our Mini World Sports Cup here at KoC, the children participated in a fantastic range of activities including soccer, basketball, tug of war, sack race and egg race. 🥅⚽️🏃‍♀️🏀🗑️🧢 ⭐️✨
They showed amazing enthusiasm, teamwork, and confidence as they moved from one game to another. We also had a friendly staff race, and a few of our wonderful parents joined in the fun too.🌟⭐️🙌
To celebrate their efforts, all the children received a ribbon. It was a proud and heartwarming moment for everyone.🏅
Thank you so much to the families who came along to witness how active, engaged, and joyful the children were today and for helping make today such a memorable experience for our KoC family.✨❤️

Who loved our KoC Easter Hat Parade today?🐰🎀❤️
We had such a wonderful celebration across the centre! The children proudly wore their creative hats from home— thank you to our amazing families for helping make them so special.
One of the biggest highlights was when our Easter Bunny hopped in to join the fun! The children proudly were so excited to see our special visitor during the parade.🐰🐰
We enjoyed dancing, egg hunts, and Easter-themed activities like egg painting, scooping rice into plastic eggs, and Egg & Spoon races.
Such a joyful day of creativity and community.
Happy Easter from all of us at KoC!🐣🌼❤️💐

🌍Harmony Day at KoC🧡
Today we celebrated Harmony Day, a beautiful reminder of the strength in our diversity. Every educators brought delicious dishes from their cultures to share— a tradition we’ve enjoyed here in our centre for so many years.🙌
The children were absolutely thrilled with all the performances. Singing and dancing in different languages made the day truly special—and we thanks to one of our lovely grandmas even sang an Indian song for everyone, which added such a heartfelt touch.⭐️
Celebrating culture, connection, and the joy of coming together.🧡🧡✨
