Our Year 9 and 10 Visual Art and G*T students, along with selected Year 8 Visual Arts students, recently enjoyed an excursion to see the Archibald Prize exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW.

The Archibald Prize is Australia’s longest-running portraiture award, held continuously for over 100 years. To qualify, artworks must be created by Australian artists and portray prominent Australians.

While at the gallery, we were fortunate to gain special access to the general collection, enriching our experience.

This excursion provided students with valuable insights into contemporary portraiture and enhanced their learning in Visual Arts, complementing their studies in Stages 4 and 5.

Every fortnight, students from the Air Class participate in a Community Access program, travelling to Cronulla Beach to develop essential life skills. Through these adventures, students practice travel training, money-handling skills, and positive interactions within the community. These experiences help build their confidence, increase their independence, and provide opportunities to explore different areas of Sydney.

📣 What a amazing day at our School Athletics Carnival!

After being postponed two weeks ago due to wet weather, students arrived at Waratah Park Sutherland on Tuesday 9 June with perfect sunny conditions.
Students arrived eager and proud in their house colours, ready to compete in both exciting track and field events.

Congratulations to all who took part, and best wishes to those moving on to the Zone Carnival on Monday 22 June at Barden Ridge Athletics Track.
We wish our athletes the best of luck as they represent our school at the next level! 🎉🏃‍♂️🏅

A huge thank you to our incredible RAISE mentors pictured here for their dedication, encouragement, and support of our Year 8 students throughout Term 2 so far.

Through their mentorship, they are helping build confidence, resilience, and positive connections, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our young people and the challenges that they may face during adolescence.

We are grateful for the time, care, and commitment they have invested in our students and school community, and look forward to the continuation of this program over the remainder of term and into next term.

Sydney East Cross Country 🏃

We had three students represent our school as part of the St George Zone squad at Wednesday's carnival. Congratulations to Xavier for placing 21st in the 16 Years event, and to Hassan and Zaak for finishing 16th and 21st respectively in the 14 Years event. A fantastic achievement by all three students – we are very proud of your efforts!
