I am reposting a letter from Jeff Foster, one of the open hearted beings i know of and who i respect.

I invite those of you who remember Clif Sanderson for comments and discussion on the topic mentioned in this writing.

Friends, I saw behind the curtain.

For about 15 years I spent time behind the scenes with spiritual teachers and gurus, some very famous, some with very large followings. I shared meals with them, travelled with them, sat in their homes long after the audience had gone and the applause had faded. I saw them when they no longer needed to be “on”.

There are names I will not name and details I will not share, out of basic human decency. But I will say this.

Every single one of them disappointed me.

Every single one.

And I say that now with love, and with deep relief.

Let me explain.

I saw them get triggered and defensive. I heard them complain about participants and organisers. I saw anger, rage, and at times abuse, directed at staff and partners, petty arguments over money and status, jealousy, lying, extra marital affairs, unprocessed trauma. I saw the strain of trying to uphold an image, of having to be “the awakened one” in every room they entered. I saw the exhaustion and resentment that simmered underneath.

I spoke with their spouses, their children, their parents, who confirmed the gap between their public image and private reality. I came to know the flawed human beings behind the masks.

And then I watched them walk onto a stage and speak beautifully about compassion and unconditional love and unity and consciousness and going beyond being triggered and “the ending of all suffering” and stuff like that.

I saw many of them misrepresent their lives on stage. Even lie about things I had just witnessed with my own eyes.

At first it hurt. I had projected wisdom onto them. I had wanted them to be more integrated, somehow above the human mess the rest of us live in. It felt like disillusionment, even betrayal.

But that disillusionment slowly turned into relief, as they all fell off the pedestals I had placed them on. Thank goodness.

Spiritual teachers are human, as we all are. Flawed, reactive, tender, sometimes generous, sometimes petty. Sometimes at peace, sometimes angry, triggered, frustrated. Sometimes compassionate, sometimes not.

Seeing that gave me permission to stop trying to live up to an image myself. I no longer felt the need to hide my imperfections or doubts in order to look “spiritual”. I could be more honest, more embodied, more real.

Over time I noticed that the teachers who denied and hid and repressed their humanity often caused the most harm. What gets split off does not disappear. It goes underground and finds other ways to express itself, sometimes destructively, in its longing to be seen and loved.

The very few spiritual teachers I could truly trust were the ones who could admit, without drama, “I get triggered.” “I feel jealous.” “I need help.” “I doubt and forget my own teaching sometimes.” There was humility there. They could own their vulnerabilities. No pedestal, just a human being with a sensitive nervous system, a history, and an open heart.

The real gift of being disappointed was this: I stopped searching for perfect teachers, and I stopped trying to be perfect myself. It made me kinder. More open. More forgiving.

And more aware of how easily we worship an image and miss the flawed human being inside. We do it to each other, and it is not kind on any level.

I am so grateful for my experience of seeing behind the curtain. I think it helped me heal.

And if any of this unsettles or disappoints or upsets you, it may be worth asking what image just cracked, and whether that cracking is actually an opening into something more human, and much more honest.

What I found behind the curtain was not enlightenment, but more humanity.

Immunity to "gurumania". Have you heard about that disease? I see it everywhere now in the Western world.

I have been following Thomas Huebl since 2013. What attracts me most is his integrity and humaness,
empathy, high sensitivity, gentle presence. These are the qualities i appreciate and sense in people i work and learn from. Yes, i am still learning from visionaries - Charles Eisenstein, Zach Bush, Rangan Chaterjee.
Thomas is an intelligent and embodied modern day mystic, who educates people about collective trauma and nervous system regulation.
Check out his recent highly intuitive and practical book - Attuned: Practicing Interdependence to Heal Our Trauma―and Our World

I am very happy to fly all the way from Australia to take part in his summer camp in July in Germany.

Together with my business partner and friend Markus Theilacker we will present a new Journey Art for Healing.

Watch out for dates!

This symbol created by Clif Sanderson can be clearly seen on our Mind Music CD cover. Do you know why it was placed there and what is the meaning behind....?

Confluence: 3,4 (three comma four).
In 1991, I founded the International Foundation for New Science. For that group I designed a logo which was unlike any other which I had done in years of graphic design. On top of an organic flowing shape I took a perfect circle inside of which were three characters. 3,4, (three comma four). Despite many queries from others, I was unable to say why I had used such an odd thing. In fact, although it sounds a bit trite, I dreamed of these characters as an organic living energy. It had the same implications as Tesla’s realization as he watched the sun rose over Paris when, after university, he couldn’t get a job and was working as a garbage collector and his ideas of creating alternating current literally came to him in a flash of sunshine.
As my understanding and often casual investigation of practical uses of subtle energy grew and the bright light of fractal geometry dawned, I saw a vision of integration.
The simplicity of Einstein’s and Mandelbrot’s equations evoke simplicity evolving into incredibly intricate construction. In the case of fractals, beautiful designs flow continually both towards infinity and towards oblivion (see www.mbfractals.com). The simple shapes express the universal field as a moving, apparently living, entity.
I saw that fundamental simplicity was the answer to my search for a way to explain what I had dreamt and felt as I worked with subtle, healing energy. My simple equation, 3,4 describes infinite compression and infinite expansion. Using the analogy of the Chinese ideas of dynamic purpose, I found I could explain my quandary through numbers: ‘one’ is particularly destructive. The number one represents aloneness. Nothing is happening, sadness, standing alone on the mountain of success bringing no joy. Two, shows such perfection of balance that there is no chance for dynamic growth or change.
Three is the number of growth, joy, potential and universal connection to the field. In classical Chinese art the theme of three is repeated in the three leaves of the bamboo, the three birds flying, the three mountains and in garden design three trees are planted alongside three curves on the low bridge over the water, three rocks sit placidly in the carp pond.
Four, on the other hand over expresses balance. Nothing will move. Indeed in both the major Chinese languages, the word ‘four’ is the same as the word ‘death’. Few people in Asia will live in a house numbered four. In Hongkong a major power generating station needed four enormous chimneys; in order to avoid the community’s wrath, a fifth chimney was built so that the skyline would not represent the tragedy of four.
However in other philosophies, ‘death’ more cheerfully represents a diminishing towards rebirth.
So my three comma four represents growth towards infinity as well as towards ultimate diminishing whilst the comma represents the indescribable moment between the inbreath and the outbreath. The pause between birth and death. The continuum within non-action and action.

Am I enlightened? No! The true interpretation of the word is applicable to someone who 'knows' something. So, in that sense, yes I am. I have a very clear view of what I am doing based on my years of feedback from patients and research situations. But if you called me a 'guru' of enlightenment I would probably laugh, not unkindly but to share the nonsense proposed by those who haven't understood that we all live in a contiguous (universal) field of molecular interconnection. This is the 'Field' of Deep Field Relaxation. To describe it we need a considerable time together to see how the Field is now spoken of by me as 'The Information Field of Creativity'. In sub-atomic physics it is now related precisely to the Zero Point Field - the point at minus 273 degrees where there is no perceptive energy remaining, where molecules, particles and so on behave strangely and demonstrate only information.

The state of mind in DFR is quite normal. It is possible, again with some training - mostly learning how to get the ego out of the picture - to feel what is happening for the client without intruding into their space. Since no one can ever know exactly what this person's problem is - some people think it is cells breaking down, others are sure it is caused by past life traumas, bad karma, etc etc, but the only truth is we cannot know what that person exactly needs at this exact time. So it becomes a release from my mind's curiosity and freedom from tiring, doubtful reasoning. Where we hear of so many 'traditional' medically trained practitioners that they are terribly tired (check the figures for suicides among medical professionals) after working. In DFR we are sure that if we are tired after working we are still trying to influence the outcome by the actions of our ego. So, yes, there is a significant difference between my state of mind and that of so-called enlightenment.

I just returned to Australia after being in Europe and Thailand for 4 months. Yes, I do feel jetlag, hanging upside down in the South Hemisphere, but that doesn't stop me to do the business meetings online. This period before the New Year is all about launching Mind Music webpage, which completely disappeared during 2022-2024. The story about its disappearance is quite intriging. If you are curious, I will tell it later in my posts.

The person behind the creator webpage wheel is Violetta Ushakova, who was my DFR client in Auckland, New Zealand in 2018. Violetta travelled and all this time Mind Music was her sheperon, her solace and inspiration.
While I am organising materials for the webpage, I came across Clif Sanderson's answers to the research students in Freiburg University where MInd Music was used for terminally ill people. Some of the quotes you can see in the comments underneath this post.

By writing comments you will increase the visibility of this page - THIS IS AN OPEN INVITATION TO ALL THOSE WHO REMEMBER US AND DFR.
