Montagu Bay Primary School is located in Montagu Bay Tasmania. We are in an idyllic setting, under the Tasman Bridge with the River Derwent on one side an Montagu Bay on the other. Our school currently has 350 enrolments from Prep to Grade 6 and 40 enrolments in our varied 0-4 year’s programs (Launching into Learning). The school was established in 1935 and has a tradition of providing quality p

ublic education for students in Years K to 6 from the surrounding community. Like all Tasmanian government schools Montagu Bay Primary School is committed to the goal that every student has the opportunity to learn and achieve his or her potential. Our decisions and direction are informed by the Department of Educations’ Strategic Plan: Learners First, The 21st Century Competencies, the ATSI Education Action Plan and The National Safe Schools Framework. Montagu Bay Primary School is committed to working with its community and supporting teachers working together designing and implementing personalised learning opportunities for all students. On Saturday night, several Montagu Bay students braved the wild weather to participate in the Light Night Glow Run in Hobart. Our school ended up placing third overall, and will receive $200 in prize money! Special thanks to Ms Hall and Miss McCarthy, and to all who registered and came along to run (or support!) on the night.
