Reminder: the studio is closed for the Easter long weekend and reopens next Wednesday/Thursday for Week 10, and following for Week 11 before our block break.

At the end of every year, I reach out to the singers, songwriters and pianists I’ve coached for feedback and reflections on their year.

The form is detailed - full of thoughtful questions, invitations to share what’s working, what they’d love more or less of, and an option to offer a public testimonial.

I absolutely love reading it all.

The “can we try…”, “more of…”, and “less of…” feedback has genuinely shaped and grown the studio into the supportive, responsive space it is today one where we can feel heard, valued, and safe to make our own music.

It’s challenged my own assumptions, stretched my thinking, guided my professional development, and reminded me just how many different ways music-making lives and breathes in this community here in Nipaluna/Hobart and beyond.

My heart is so incredibly full reading these (with more still coming in over the coming weeks), and seeing my own deep, behind-the-scenes work reflected so clearly back through the voices of this studio.

I say it a lot, and I will honestly forever say it - it is an incredible privilege and honor to do this work, and to coach so many amazing artists and music makers.

AND if you’re reading this and thinking, “Right, 2026 is my year to create, grow and gather knowledge to support all my music making!!,” I’d love to hear from you.

Attending today’s session was deeply affirming, once again reinforcing that the tools we use in the studio each week are the very same tools (and new ones!) being used at the highest level across the globe in the MT & pop world!*

The classes will be in songwriting and music production at the Salamanca Arts Centre. This will be an opportunity for emerging female artists to work 1:1 with me, culminating in the launch of an EP of their original work at Founders Room, Salamanca Arts Centre in May 2026.
