Dear Leapfrog families,

With the weather forecast being for cold and wet weather tomorrow morning, I've made the difficult choice to take our Nature Play indoors.

Kinder Yellow classroom will be open at 9.30 tomorrow morning. We'll still be leaning into the play, joy and delight that nature offers in the warm and comfort of the classroom. šŸ˜‰

Dear Leapfrog families,

Once again, I would like to extend my gratitude to this amazing community for your commitment to our Leapfrog meet ups and the warm welcome you all extend to newcomers who courageously show up for the first time.

I am attaching the calendar for the second part of Term 3 (Weeks 6-10). Please note that a few of our appointments are out and about so keep your eye on the locations for our regular Thursday morning sessions.

Our Leapfrogs meetup this week felt like a fiesta of colour and creativity!

Two things struck me while I was looking through these snapshots: so many busy little hands (painting, pouring, playing, mixing, mark making, rolling, constructing and more) engaging and developing fine motor capacity to support developing independence and early writing efforts. It's the perfect segue into mark making next week. The other thing I noticed was a great deal of working and playing alongside; children are side-by-side watching, learning and having opportunities to develop their social skills and capacity. There are also some great pictures of our families facilitating engagement with our invitations to play provoking our little learners' growth and development.

Dear Leapfrog families,

Thanks for a great term full of connection and growth. We have welcomed several new families to the fold this term and also seen the consolidation of relationships that have been growing over time. It fills my cup with such joy when I see the little people who have meet through Leapfrogs delight in each other and develop valuable social connections and skills.

Our visit to TMAG closed the term on a high. Every time I visit mapiya lumi I make new discoveries and today one of my noticings was the growth in confidence of some of our littlest learners. The environment of the childrenā€™s gallery which encourages children to climb up, on, over and under lots of obstacles - and the surprise slide at the end - shone a spotlight on how the gross motor skills and movement of these youngsters are developing to support their growing curiosity and desire to explore and know their world.

I have posted the timetable for the first half of Term 3. We have much to look forward to next term with both Science Week and Book Week bound to be highlights. As always, we will have our own Leapfrogs Book Parade to celebrate the Symphony of Stories that animate our childrenā€™s imaginations.

Yes, it is that time of year again! We are forming our 2027 Kinder classes already at Lansdowne Crescent Primary School!

If your child was born in 2022 and you live in the Lansdowne Crescent Primary School intake area, your child is eligible for enrolment at our school for Kindergarten in 2027. If you haven't enroled your child yet, please approach our school office as soon as possible to begin the process: [email protected] or (03) 6234 1030.

Dear Leapfrog families,

Our appointments for the remainder of Term 2 are included on our new calendar posted here.

We have a couple of exciting outings planned for which our usual meet up time (and place for TMAG) will change so please check the start time carefully for those days.

There are also some additional events I have included: some whole school appointments which our Launching into Learning families are warmly invited to attend and some free Festival of Voices events which look like they could be great for our Leapfrogs.

Please reach out if you have any wonderings.

We will see you in the classroom this week to engage our imagination!

Our Autumn Adventure will go inside the Kinder Yellow classroom today!

The BOM is still showing that the rain will clear and the sun will come out by 9.30 today but it is hard to have faith with this much rain still coming down. Our Botanical Gardens meet up has been cancelled and we will take our Autumn Adventure inside today.
