Boa Vista

A federation home reimagined for modern family life. The project replaces a dilapidated street-front garage with a garden and formalised entry, reusing its bricks for foundation and landscaping walls. Within a heritage precinct, the new addition adopts a clean, contemporary language that respectfully echoes the original form, heights and proportions.

Interiors are energised with bold natural stone and paired playful colour. The upper level captures views of Kunanyi, the city and bushland of the Domain.

Boa Vista​​​​​​​​

Our Boa Vista project wrapped up on site late last year, and we’re absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! We had a whirlwind of styling, photo and film shoots just before Christmas - our amazing clients handled everything with ease as we took over their home for a few days (thank you!). It’s a bittersweet moment to hand over a project you care so much so about personally, but we feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to help bring fresh life to the federation home for the family.​​​​​​​​

From the very start in late 2022, we’ve been so excited by the shared enthusiasm for colour, materials, fixtures and details. This project truly showcases the clients’ unwavering positivity and dedication, including Chris’s incredible effort in cleaning thousands of reused bricks, site cleaning and working alongside the builders as a labourer, all while they juggled parenting, studying and long hours working. Hats off to you. ​​​​​​​​

We celebrated with a beer with the clients shortly after they moved in and were so touched to hear how the renovation had already made a positive social impact for their family and friends, even in the short time they’ve been back in the home. This is exactly why we love what we do!​​​​​​​​

This project is built on a strong, trusting relationship between us and our clients, and we’re fortunate to have a top-notch team of quality builders and tradies to bring it to life. ​​​​​​​​

Licht Architecture is looking for a registered architect or experienced graduate (3+ years experience) with strong design skills to join our Hobart Studio.

We are currently working on exciting residential, community, childcare, hospitality and tourism projects of varying scales and are looking to expand our team. We’d love to hear from you if you’re a fun, hardworking design lover who is keen to be involved in delivering playful, considered projects from concept to completion. Full time or part time positions available.
