Taking a break.

First of all I want to thank everyone for all your support over the last year or so! This little sewing and mending project wouldn't be possible without clients and friends supporting me and using my services.

Some of you might know that I have also been pursuing qualifications in counselling for the last year and a half and I am happy to say that I am close to completing my studies! But as I get closer to graduation I need to take a proper break from my sewing and mending commissions while I transition from student to counsellor.

That being said, I still hope to be able to teach mending skills because I am really passionate about giving people the skills to love their clothing and make it last. I am not yet sure what this will look like, but stay tuned for news, it will come eventually!

I'm looking forward to what 2023 will bring and no doubt there will be plenty of sewing and mending to come. I'll still try to share my personal mending projects here too.

Much love,
Laura

A recent mend for a much loved dress!
The original button loops were elastic and kept popping out if the seams. I found this ribbon in my stash and it was the perfect width to make into rouleau loops to replace the old ones. Now it's good as new!

As mentioned yesterday I am still doing masks and mending through this page!

These are my current stocks of fabric for masks. Masks in plain fabrics $10, and printed fabrics $12.

Available in various adults and childrens sizes.

Hope you're all staying safe!

Disclaimer: these masks are not a replacement for social distancing and good hand hygiene, they are designed to be used by the public when social distancing is difficult or for general activity.

Mending knits is one of my favourite things to do. No woolen jumper is too holey to mend it turns out, which is something I learnt from Collingwood-Norris . I used my trusty speed-weve to mend this one, as well as fixing the ladders which had run from the holes first.

Would you like to learn how to mend knits like this? Let me know!
