Our pre preps engaged in a spontaneous discussion surrounding diversity. Their conversations were supported with the book “whoever you are” by Mem Fox. The books speaks of the fact that we might not look the same or speak the same language, but inside, everyone is just like you. The reflections from the children blew us away. At Cuddly Bear, we see our children as competent and capable learners. So much so, that they are involved in our pre planning processes. Our pre preps are commencing their research into routes and considerations for visiting our local op shop. Investigating the best routes to take and any obstacles that may be in their way. This is our first step before deep diving into risk assessment creation 🥰 a big well done to Hunna, our pre prep educator, for leading these discussions!

A pirates life is one of adventure and freedom! 🌊 ⚓️ ❌ 💰

ARGHHH ME HEARTIES! 🦜 🪙 for pirate day today our kinders set off on a quest to find the treasure! Each clue led them a step closer to finding where X marked the spot. Through collaboration and critical thinking, our kinders found their way to the buried treasures. We are so glad no one had to walk the plank!!

Yesterday our Nursery Room Leader, Bobbie, and our Assistant Director, Hannah, attended the Infant and Toddler National Practice Conference hosted by ☺️ They had such a great time, learnt so much and have left feeling very inspired! We can’t wait to see what this sparks for them within their pedagogy and practice 🥰

Someone's trash, is another one's treasure! ✨ Our pre preps have developed a strong interest in insects and their habitats. Over the past couple of months we have seen a full inquiry blossom and children's ideas come to light. During a brainstorming session, the children discovered an old dolls house that was no longer being used. What was once an old dollhouse soon became a beacon of creativity... The "cuddly bear bug hotel"! I wonder what else the pre preps will discover?

As we start our preparations for bush kinder, we also commence the start of our risk assessments with children! 🍃 ❤️ By involving children in this process, it encourages them to take ownership over safety measures and for them to build a real understanding of the WHY. This is just one of the ways we involve children in the development of our safety culture here at Cuddly Bear 👏
