My treasure chest is complete!
I transformed an old wooden box (sadly, I forgot to take a before photo!). It started out as a plain, unpainted box with a glass top, but it was the perfect size to hold all my pirate coins for next weekend's 3-day craft retreat.
For the finish, I used Stamperia paints in Earth Brown, Coral Red, Shadow, and Bronze. The decorative paper is from Stamperia's Songs of the Sea collection.
The metal hardware came from my personal stash and was coated with a bronze metal wax to give it an aged, weathered look.
Additional materials used:
• Chipboard
• Half pearls
• Black cardstock
• Thin white scrap cardboard
I'm really pleased with how this pirate-inspired treasure chest turned out and can't wait to fill it with coins for the retreat!
