🧙‍♀️🐶🐱🐸🐤🐲🧹Yesterday Kindergarten, Year 1 & Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful day out at Griffith Regional Theatre to see the production of Room on the Broom. We sang, clapped and laughed along with the show and had such a fantastic time watching the story come to life on stage. 🧹✨ We feel so fortunate that our students have the opportunity to experience the arts in such a wonderful and memorable way, creating special moments they will remember for years to come. 🎭✨

This morning we had the joy of celebrating our wonderful Dads, Grandads and treasured people in our lives with a delicious Father’s Day breakfast. 💙
It was a beautiful morning filled with smiles, laughter and time together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable. We wish all our amazing Dads, Grandads and loved ones a very happy Father’s Day for Sunday! 💙

📚✨ Book Week 2026! ✨📚
What a wonderful week we’ve had celebrating Book Week at school! We had so much fun dressing up as our favourite book characters and reading this year’s CBCA award books. It was a wonderful week filled with imagination, laughter and a whole lot of books! 🌟📚

🌟🍄 Our classroom has become a mushroom laboratory! 🍄🌟

On Wednesday, our students launched their Button Mushroom Growers kit and began an exciting hands-on science investigation!

A huge thank you to the Australian Mushroom Growers Association for providing our FREE classroom mushroom kit.

Mark, a regular visitor to Hay, visited our class last week to share his passion and expertise in growing gourmet mushrooms. We are also incredibly grateful for his generous donation of an oyster mushroom growing kit we started during his visit. Our grey oyster mushroom kit is growing like crazy! Check out the pics.

Over the coming weeks, our young scientists will explore:
🔬 The fascinating parts of a mushroom
🌱 How fungi grow and reproduce
🚜 How mushrooms are farmed sustainably
🧺 From farm to plate – the journey of mushroom production

Students will observe changes, record data, make predictions and, with a little patience, harvest their very own mushrooms. It's a fantastic hands-on way to connect science, sustainability and food production.

We can't wait to watch our mushrooms grow! 🍄

A fantastic day at the Southern Cluster Athletics Carnival in Deniliquin! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Today, St Mary’s travelled with our largest athletics team in many years and returned with our biggest ribbon haul in many years! Our students competed brilliantly across both track and field events, showing great determination and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to everyone who competed, and good luck to those who have qualified for the Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Parkes next Thursday 💛💙

💙💛Over the past two weeks in Kindergarten, we have had so much fun reading Wombat Stew and discovering fascinating facts about wombats. Today, our learning came to life as we made our very own wombat stew—and the verdict was unanimous... it was absolutely delicious! 💛💙
