25/02/2026

SSSC is hosting its annual Career's Expo Alumni Panel Discussion on the 30th of March starting at 11.30am until 12.40pm in the auditorium at Swinny's 505 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn campus.

We're seeking alumni to volunteer an hour of their time to influence the next generation. Send a message via messenger to get in contact.

Would you like to come back to Swinny and see how we've flooded again? Walk the hallowed halls and marvel at the removal of the red carpet in favour of industrial grey? Come and join us to talk about yourself and field questions by intrepid students on your career pathway after leaving high school.

Yes, Belinda is still teaching.

Former Swinny student Jane Gazzo has been paying it forward by sponsoring an annual award for a Swinburne Senior Secondary College student who shows promise as a journalist, broadcaster or record keeper of popular culture.

Jane's own time at the school led to a career in broadcasting, which included hosting the 90s cult TV shows Recovery, THE SOUND and Play Loud. In 2023 she was named Music Journalist of the Year at the Australian Women in Music Awards.

This year's Jane Gazzo award went to Marcus Veal. For the first time the award also included an internship at the youth radio organisation SYN (Student Youth Network), where Jane is general manager.
