One of my favourite things about sensory play is watching kids of all ages get involved. The little ones learning from the big kids, the big kids helping the little ones, and everyone finding their own way to play. 🥰

A good old slimy mess 🤣

The kids get to squish, stretch and make a mess, and you get to sit down and drink your coffee while it’s still hot. Win win really ☕️

Sometimes there doesn't need to be a lesson, an outcome or a perfectly planned activity.

Sometimes they just need to dig, pour, squish, splash, make a mess and see where their imagination takes them.

Let them slow down. Let them play. Let them be little for a while. 🫧

Little hands, big learning 💛

All that squeezing, scooping, pinching, pouring and squishing during sensory play is helping build those little hand muscles and coordination.

It might just look like play, but they’re actually working on skills they’ll use later for things like drawing, writing, cutting and getting dressed.

And the best part? They have no idea they’re learning. They’re just having fun.
