Today we were surrounded by so much love from our Dads, Grandfathers, Step Dads and special father figures by attending our special Father's Day Mass and BBQ today. We wish all of our Dads a wonderful relaxing weekend and we hope you all enjoy your day on Sunday.

🏀 REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! 🏀

We’re excited to kick off another great basketball season, with competitions starting Monday 7 September.

Fees:
• Gundagai Basketball fee - $77
• Basketball NSW membership - paid separately. Please keep an eye on your emails as renewal dates can vary.

Playing up an age group:
Some of our top-aged players (Year 2, Year 4) and confident players may be invited to play a second game in the older age group.

All players will still play in their own age group first, and any opportunity to play up is a privilege. We’ll always check in with parents for permission before adding a child to an older team.

Game times:
🏀 Minis - 4:30pm
🏀 Sub Juniors - 5:15pm
🏀 Juniors - TBC

Once we have final numbers, we’ll confirm the remaining game times and structure.

A quick note on registrations:
As a small volunteer-run committee, we really appreciate everyone getting their registrations in on time. It helps us organise teams, draws, and game schedules smoothly for everyone.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept late registrations, so please make sure you sign up before the closing date.

Congratulations to Chelsea and Harrison who today participated in the WR public speaking at Sacred Heart in Cootamundra we are so proud of you both. Chelsea received first place for Yr 3 and Harrison equal 2nd for Yr 5. Both students delivered their speech with confidence. Thank you Mr Peter again for your guidance and tutoring of both students

Last Friday we were extremely fortunate to have visits by Gundagai Fire and Rescue, NSW Ambulance and NSW Police representatives come to school to speak with the children and conduct a tour through the vehicles. WOW This was amazing and we are forever grateful for our emergency service personnel for the hard work each and everyone of our emergency services put in to keep our community and people safe. Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity explore the emergency vehicles and equipment and ask lots of questions about how things work. Students were very excited that they got to sit in the police vehicle, ambulance and check out how cool it is in the Fire Engine.

Who was St Carlo Acutis?

Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager whose short life became an extraordinary witness of faith for the modern world. Born in London in 1991 and raised in Milan, Carlo enjoyed school, sport, friends and technology. Yet at the centre of his life was a deep love for Jesus in the Eucharist.

He described the Eucharist as his "highway to heaven." Whenever possible, Carlo attended daily Mass, spent time in Eucharistic Adoration, and allowed his faith to shape the way he lived, treating others with kindness, generosity and compassion.

He was not raised in a religious home, but his strong faith led his parents back to theirs.

A gifted computer enthusiast, Carlo saw technology as a way to share the Gospel. He created a website documenting Eucharistic Miracles from around the world, helping countless people discover the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Today, his work continues as an international exhibition.

Carlo also loved soccer, video games, animals and spending time with friends. His life reminds us that holiness is found not by escaping ordinary life, but by living it with God at the centre.

Diagnosed with leukaemia in 2006, Carlo died at just 15 years of age, offering his suffering for the Church and for others. In 2025, he was canonised, and today he is recognised as a saint for our times.

His life reminds us:
• Deep faith is possible, even in today's digital world.
• Joy, ordinary life and holiness belong together.
• No one is too young to take their faith seriously.
• The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life.

St Carlo Acutis shows us that sainthood is not reserved for extraordinary people or another age. It is possible here and now, through a life centred on Christ.

We invite you to experience the holiness of St Carlo Acutis when his relic visits our parish on Saturday 15th August.
