This term, our exploration of sustainability has led us to look closely at the world around us. 🌿💧

As part of this learning, we explored the health of our neighboring dam and discovered that the water quality is poor. This real-life investigation has encouraged the children to ask questions, share their ideas and think about how we can care for and protect our local environment.

Through meaningful, hands-on experiences such as these, children are developing a deeper understanding of sustainability and discovering that even our youngest community members can be curious, informed and active carers of our environment. 🌏💚

Its nearly Spring time and are defiantly ready for it with our gardens. Our vegetable garden is a wonderful space for hands-on learning and discovery! 🌱🥕🍅

As children dig, plant, water and care for our garden, they are learning about where food comes from, how living things grow and change, and the importance of caring for our environment. Gardening also encourages curiosity, responsibility, patience and persistence as children observe the changes that happen over time.

Through getting their hands dirty, our children are developing a connection with nature while learning through real and meaningful experiences. 🌿💚

This week is science week.
Science experiments at preschool are about so much more than creating an exciting reaction! 🧪✨

As children mix, pour, predict, question and test their ideas, they are developing curiosity, problem-solving skills, language, early maths concepts and an understanding of cause and effect. They are learning to persist when things don’t go as expected and discovering that their ideas and questions are important.

Through hands-on experimentation, our children become active learners—exploring, wondering and discovering how the world around them works. 🔬🌈
