"The Only Constant in Life Is Change." - Heraclitus
Today is a sad day for my family. Today we bid farewell to my Nan, my father's mother. She was a remarkable, kind-hearted, and sassy woman who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with every fibre of her being.
We, as mortal beings, understand that death is an inescapable, inevitable part of life. Yet, it does not lessen the pain we feel when we of lose someone we love. Life is a whirlwind of change. We grow older, seasons shift, we find love, we lose friends, we chase dreams, and sometimes, we say goodbye to someone we love.
Change is a constant in our lives. We can live our lives in fear of change, or we can accept it, moving through our growing pains with the knowledge in our hearts that even though things aren’t okay right now, they will be one day. The sun will set and rise again, after winter, spring arrives, we live, we love, and we die. That is the nature of this life. Living in fear of change, whether external or internal, doesn't serve you.
How open are you to change?
I know it's tough, I know it’s really hard right now. But you must find the courage within you. Be brave, be open, and be adaptable, for life's nature is to evolve, and it's your nature too. You are not trapped by change; you are liberated by it. Be dynamic, be flexible, explore life, chase your dreams, and step into the person you are becoming.
It's okay to feel sadness when things change. You may feel grief, and that's alright. So grieve. Grieve for what's been lost, knowing that the grief is a testament to the love we have for what's no longer with us. Use that love to create a life you cherish. Treasure the memories, and remember what you've had, not what you've lost.
You have one precious life, and change is part of the journey. It's okay for things to be different. You're safe in the face of change. You're going to be okay. I believe in you. I'm here for you. I love you. đź’• "
