This game encourages my clients to read particular words (in this example - words with silent final e). When they read the word, they can swat the mozzie.
I had a zoom meeting this morning with Barbara Friedlander - an expert in supporting children with learning difficulties in the USA.
She is a co-author of the book "Powerful Writing Strategies for All Students" which is about SRSD - Self-Regulated Strategy Development.
SRSD encourages learners to approach writing tasks in a structured manner - reducing the overwhelm and anxiety that often accompanies writing. So many students consider themselves 'bad writers', but once they are familiar with SRSD, their opinions shift as they recognise that they can do it.
I will be operating writing sessions in Term 3 to encourage learners to use SRSD.
You can check out my website at www.multisensorylearninghub.com to enquire or book your child in for one of the Term 3 sessions.
Or you can message me with any questions - I'm happy to help your child increase their writing confidence.

My semi-private support groups will start again in Term 3 and continue into Term 4.
Term 3 will focus on developing writing skills for students in Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8. These sessions are designed for students who find it difficult to come up with ideas, plan out their writing, or put their fabulous ideas onto paper.
Term 4 will be all about maths skills. We will work on those skills that support maths throughout high school - including multiplication, division, fractions, and beginning algebra.
If you feel your child needs additional support to improve their self-confidence and school results before the end of the year, contact me to book them in for one of these weekly sessions.
You can message me below, email me at [email protected] or book in through my website: www.multisensorylearninghub.com
These affordable sessions will have a positive impact on your child's learning.
Term 3 will see the return of my semi-private support groups.
I will be providing support for students in Year 7, Year 8, and those who are currently in Year 6 and are moving on to high school in 2027.
We will be focusing on building skills that will help your child develop their writing to a higher standard. This will help with English essays, experiment reports for Science, explanations for History and Geography as well all the other subjects covered in high school.
Contact me and I'll send you the information on how these sessions will support your child.
Only 3 places in each session ensures each child will receive the individual support they need while reducing the cost for you.
Check out my website at www.multisensorylearninghub.com or message me and we can chat soon.
Three of the most common learning difficulties are dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia.
Dyslexia affects reading and spelling.
Dyscalculia affects mathematics.
Dysgraphia affects writing.
If you think your child may be experiencing one or more of these difficulties, please reach out to Multisensory Learning Hub to see how I can help your child.
You can check out my website at www.multisensorylearninghub.com for more details, or message me directly.
I am happy to help you and your child.
I'm collaborating with a registered Psychologist to help families who are seeking a formal diagnosis for a child's learning difficulties.
An intervention helps to ascertain if your child's learning issues are related to a neurological difference, or just inadequate teaching.
Multisensory Learning Hub can deliver assessments that help pinpoint the issues.
Contact me if you have any questions.
I've seen this quite often - lots of effort, but limited progress.
Sometimes it just means your child needs a different approach.
Message me or comment below, and we can talk about how an assessment would help identify where your child is struggling.
