The intent of this page is to provide a hub for responsible community engagement that celebrates the daily life of our school. We proactively support participation in social media to develop digital citizenship throughout our community. Niagara Park Public School values the responsible use of social media and follows both the DEC Code of Conduct and Facebook terms and conditions. We will:
- Share the positive and proud everyday moments happening in our school community
- Maintain privacy of our students by only posting photographs with parental permission.
- Encourage community participation and answer questions as quickly as possible during school hours. Please also remember that our staff are bound by our code of conduct and will not respond to personal friend requests from members of the school community. Students
Under the Facebook terms and conditions children under the age of 13 years are not permitted to hold a Facebook account and as such, students under the age of 13 will not be permitted to join the community. If any students ‘like’ or comment on the Niagara Park Public School page comments will be deleted immediately. Comments Policy
Niagara Park Public School values the responsible use of social media and encourages comments from Facebook users but takes no responsibility for comments made on the page. We reserve the right to remove any content that we believe is in breach of Department of Education and Training and Facebook policies and guidelines and the values of our school. Niagara Park Public School reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to remove comments or content that is:
- Offensive, abusive, profane, hateful or racist
- Threatening or defaming any person or organisation
- The direct, full name or descriptive reference to an individual, irrespective of the post’s tone
- Solicitations and advertisements by other organisations or endorsements by other organisations or endorsements of other organisations
- Multiple or repetitive posts by a single or multiple users
- Anything else that the school deems inappropriate and does not align with our values, standards, policies and guidelines.
