Easter is getting very close and you can feel the excitement amongst the children - and adults!

Just a reminder that this Friday (20th March) at the centre we will be celebrating Harmony Day.

Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity, promoting inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. The week-long celebration, centered on the theme "everyone belongs," aligns with the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

A sad day is fast approaching at The Homestead. We are all gearing up to say our final goodbyes to Leah as her final working day with us will be this Friday.

Leah has been a well respected and loved member of the team for the last couple of years. In that time she has worked across all of the rooms but has spent a large majority of her time working in the Gumnut room. She is going to be missed by not only all of the staff, but the children and families too.

Leah is about to jet set off on an adventure of a lifetime as she sets her sights on New York City to work as an Au Pair.

We will miss seeing your smiling face around the place Leah, but we know that you are about to have so much fun. Your host family are very lucky to have you!

A friendly reminder that tomorrow at The Homestead is 'Wear your team colours day'.

We are excited to see all of the different team colours! Remember it can be any team colours that you support but red, yellow and blue are the better colours!!!

Happy Lunar New Year! This year is the Year of the Horse.

This week at the Homestead we will be celebrating Lunar New Year with lots of special activities. Amy (one of our casual educators) will also be coming in on Friday to do some activities with the children in each room! We feel very fortunate to have Amy to be able to share her culture with us, so that we can share in the celebrations too!

How lucky that we are the ones who get to witness all of the incredible learning that happens every day in a child's play!

Amanda (our inclusion officer) has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to come up with a 'Welcome to The Homestead' door design, incorporating the Kaurna language and Kaurna symbols. Lyndal has supported Amanda with this design and together they have come up with something that means the most to The Homestead.

Last Friday night we were able to celebrate all of our beautiful children who have now graduated from childcare!

It was a wonderful little send off for the children who are now officially off to big school!

We are sure this morning was met with some nerves but hopefully enough excitement to get them through the day!

Don't forget to drop in and see us at some stage, so we can see you all in your school uniforms!

On behalf all of the staff at The Homestead I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

We have had a fun filled December with so many Christmas themed activities. We had an awesome time at our Christmas concert and have had some fun with all of our recent dress up days.

We hope everyone is able to enjoy some family time together and we can't wait to welcome everyone back on Wednesday 7th January 2026.

Amanda (from the Banksia room) is our inclusion officer and she has been busy teaching the educators at The Homestead some key words in Kaurna language.

Amanda has been regularly attending workshops with Uncle Tamaru and has been delivering so much useful information to us all!
