We're counting down the days until our High Tea & Business Bubbles on Wednesday 28th October, and we can't wait to hear author and keynote speaker Alan Riva in conversation with our very own Vice President Jodi Robertson.

With Alan's deep connection to Nepal, every Luxury Raffle ticket sale at our High Tea event will go toward helping families in Nepal start again after the recent devastating landslide. We are delighted welcome Alan Riva back to our WOI Stage, in conversation with our Vice President, Jodi Robertson, at High Tea & Business Bubbles this October.

For 30 years, Alan has been discovering how the simple, often-overlooked practice of being present can enrich our work, our relationships and our lives. It’s a philosophy he now shares as a keynote speaker on the Power of Living Present, with clients including Medibank, CommBank, UNSW, Uprise Health, Way Ahead and many more.

Alan is also an author. It was on an expedition in the Indian Himalayas, camped halfway up a mountain, that the idea for his novel The Jar of Dreams came to him in a dream. He has also written a book for Lifeline and is currently ghost-writing a book on mental health and wellbeing for Penguin Random House Australia.

At Women of Influence, is our favourite motto. We are so proud that our events are full of like-minded Women (and some brave Men!) of Influence, using their influence for good!

Our High Tea & Business Bubbles event this year is a special one, as we are aiming to raise money for a special cause

Our speaker Alan Riva has a very personal connection to Nepal, returning recently before the tragic landslides. Every Luxury Raffle ticket sale at our High Tea event will go toward helping the families of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun start again after the recent devastating landslide. We’re aiming to raise $10,000 to help families rebuild their homes and their lives, and show them that the Women of Influence community is thinking of them, and that they are not alone in this most challenging of times.

We are delighted to share that Alan Riva will join us on stage, in conversation with our Vice President, Jodi Robertson, at High Tea & Business Bubbles on the 28th October. Alan is no stranger to the Women of Influence community as a previous guest speaker, and we could not be happier to welcome him back!

Alan shares a 30-year-strong philosophy as a keynote speaker on the Power of Living Present, with clients including Medibank, CommBank, UNSW, and more, as well as writing his book The Jar of Spring.

Alan also has a personal connection to Nepal, spending much of last 20 years in these communities. On his most recent trip he and his son Noah stayed with locals in the same villages now buried under mud and rubble.

At the High Tea & Business Bubbles event we will be doing more than raising a glass to Spring this year.

Alan has committed 100% of the proceeds from his book The Jar of Dreams Pre-Release Edition to helping his friends and the wider community rebuild. Plus every Luxury Raffle ticket sale at our High Tea event will go toward helping the families of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun start again.

You might have seen them rushing around an event, welcoming our community, moderating panels or drawing raffles - the Women of Influence Committee is hard at work making sure our next event - High Tea & Business on 28th October at RACV Royal Pines - is one to remember!

Started in 2005, our events are designed to deliver guests an enjoyable, educational and entertaining experience and provide the opportunity to meet like-minded people, while using our influence for good!
