Hope In A Suitcase Fundraiser (donations)
Out of Uniform – Magical
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is organising an event to gain donations for Hope in A Suitcase Foundation.
To help support this process, we are asking students to bring in donations from the items listed below and come to school dressed in something magical.
About the Hope In A Suitcase Foundation:
Hope in a Suitcase Australia is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers who are incredibly passionate about showing every child in the foster care system that they are loved and valued by their community.
They aim to do this by giving children a suitcase of their very own to ensure they have a safe and secure place in which to pack their belongings and take with them wherever their journey may lead.
The suitcases are filled with essential items such as toiletries, (sanitary items for the older girls), underwear, a set of pyjamas and a change of clothing.
They also include something to cuddle for the younger children, a book to read, a journal or colouring-in books and pencils to encourage creativity and provide a distraction away from their turmoil.
Date: Tuesday 8th September 2026 ( Term 3, week 8 )
Theme: Magical - examples include wizards, fairies, witches, superheroes, any magical character from a book or movie, princes or princesses, a cape and hat or sparkly accessories.
Donations: Instead of a gold coin we are asking for a donation.
This could include:
- New clothing, pyjamas, socks or un**es for children
- Craft items, colouring books, pencils, stationery or school supplies
- Baby items such as newborn clothing, bottles and dummies
- Sanitary items, toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbands or hairbrush
- Storybooks, a soft toy to cuddle, or a journal.
- Small toys e.g. uno cards, handball, barbie, cars etc
