If you’re parenting a child with big emotions, you’re not doing anything wrong.

Big feelings are part of healthy development — but they can feel overwhelming when you’re not sure how to respond.

I created The Big Feelings Parenting Guide to give parents clear guidance they can use in real moments — without yelling, guessing, or shutting down.

It’s designed to support your child’s mental health and help you feel more confident as a parent.

Ready to feel confident, connected, and calm in your parenting journey? Drop a comment below "I want in" and I’ll send you the link to grab your copy for just $27

Let’s turn those big emotions into big breakthroughs — together. 💪✨

Welcome back everyone!
It's been a hot minute. I've been super under the pump with the family and work commitments, but I'm back and ready to help and support families in anyway that I can.

Over the holidays I have been busy behind the scenes creating products to help families from all aspects of education including learning, mental health and emotional support.

I've even set up my own little stan store where these products can be readily accessed as I release them. Check it out at https://stan.store/educateem

I look forward to helping as many families as I can to navigate this tricky, beautiful life.

🌸 Raising Sensitive Kids: Dandelion & Orchid Theory 🌼

Have you ever wondered why some children seem to thrive no matter what, while others struggle when routines change, noise increases, or emotions run high?

Psychologists explain this difference using the Dandelion and Orchid Theory.

🌼 Dandelions are resilient. Like the flower, they can grow almost anywhere, even in tough conditions. These kids adapt quickly and bounce back from challenges with less difficulty.

🌸 Orchids, however, are much more sensitive. Just like the flower, they need the right environment to thrive. They may be easily overwhelmed, pick up on the emotions of others, or struggle with big changes. But — and this is so important — when orchids are nurtured with patience, empathy, and stability, they don’t just survive… they blossom. 🌟

👉 Supporting orchid children might look like:

Creating calm, predictable routines

Allowing quiet time for recharging

Encouraging open conversations about feelings

Guiding gently rather than disciplining harshly

Celebrating their unique strengths (empathy, creativity, deep thinking)

Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with them?”, we can shift to “What do they need to grow?”. And when they get it, sensitive kids can truly shine. 🌱✨

Do you think your child is more of a dandelion or an orchid? 💬

Tomorrow as spring begins I start my challenge of walking at least 15000 steps per day to raise money and awareness for kids with cerebral palsy.

If you would like to donate and no donation is to small or if you would simply like to share this post around to friends and family I would be very appreciative.

Most neurodiverse kids don’t just benefit from routines—they thrive when they can see them.
Try using simple icons or pictures for each part of their day: 🛏️ Wake up → 🍽️ Eat → 🧸 Play → 📖 Story.
This helps reduce anxiety and meltdowns before they even begin.
✨ Visual schedules = emotional safety.

Let me know if you would like me to shoot you a copy of the visual chart I use here at home and I will send you the file and you can edit how you wish.
