WORKPLACE LEARNING π·ββοΈπ©βπ«
Year 10 and 11 students took part in Workplace Learning last week as an important step in their career preparation. Students found placements across a wide range of industries, gaining firsthand experience in pathways such as carpentry, construction, aged care, administration, hairdressing, mechanical trades, plumbing, teaching, refrigeration, engineering, electrical, food and hospitality, dairy farming, architecture, retail, prosthetics, dance teaching, nursing, animal care, sales, branding and marketing and more.
We extend our sincere thanks to all the workplaces who welcomed our students and provided them with such valuable real world experience. Feedback from employers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on our studentsβ willingness to immerse themselves fully and make the most of this opportunity. Their enthusiasm and professionalism were a credit to themselves and to Heritage.

WEEK 8: THE EAGLE π¦
Nearing the end of Term 2, the year is flying and so is our spiritual theme for this week! This powerful Bible quote we are learning about the eagle reminds us that God renews our strength and helps us to soar above the challenges of life. π

YEAR 7 FOOD ON THE TABLE EXCURSION π©βπ³
Today, our Year 7 classes volunteered with Food on the Table as part of their Economics and Business unit exploring different types of work and why people work. Students worked together to make an incredible 944 sausage rolls for people experiencing homelessness or hardship in the community.
We greatly value our ongoing partnership with Food on the Table. Heritage students have been volunteering with the organisation for the past three years. Their team is always welcoming, supportive and generous in sharing their knowledge and experiences with our students.
As part of this partnership, half of the profits from the Year 7 Business Day in Week 9 will be donated to Food on the Table. In addition, our Year 8 students will take part in a Focus Day this Friday, making soup to donate to the organisation.
We thank Food on the Table for continuing to provide meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, contribute and support the wider community.
