Meet the lovely Ketese - year 10 SHINE student at Champion Bay Senior High School 👋😁
SHINE has helped Ketese to build friendly and strong relationships, and was able to provide Ketese with support during a particularly challenging time last year.
Ketese has been able to make some very special memories with her SHINE friends in and outside of the program.
She loves to paint and draw backgrounds in her spare time and would like to become a photographer when she finishes school 📸
Keep up the amazing work Ketese - we love being able to support you on your journey and thank you for always brightening our days with your kind smile :)

Thanks to the year 10 SHINE superstars who helped wash the bus ready for its trip to Mount Magnet next week 🤩
Such great teamwork and truly kind to make sure your Mount Magnet SHINE sisters have a nice clean bus ready for adventures on the Culture Camp ⛺️🎒
Over the coming weeks we will be introducing you to some of the incredible students in our SHIMMER and SHINE programs 👋
First up we are very excited to introduce the amazing Caitlyn - Year 9 SHINE student at Champion Bay Senior High School.
Caitlyn has found that SHINE helps with her mental health, it can help change her mood and makes her feel more confident within herself and others.
In her spare time she likes to play Roblox, Minecraft or Animal Crossing with her sister and mum.
Caitlyn has an incredible goal of become a midwife or having a career in nursing when she finishes school 👩🏼⚕️
One of her favourite SHINE memories is learning about hygiene, particularly when it comes to washing hair. Caitlyn loved being able to have her hair washed by her SHINE friends and getting to wash theirs as well.
We have loved having Caitlyn in our SHINE program this year and are so proud of everything she has achieved already 💖
The cool change in weather seems like the perfect time to share our amazingly talented SHINE student, Hannah's latest creation ❄️🖌
Even though it is a little cooler, make sure you 'SHINE BRIGHT' this weekend ☀️✨🕯️
Our Rangeway Primary School SHIMMER facilitator, K**a - has been having the best time getting to know her new SHIMMER group for 2022 🙌
We love getting to welcome new girls into our programs each year, and it is always special to discover the different connections of siblings and friends who are also part of our SHIMMER and SHINE family 🥰🥰
The girls have been busy learning about the SHINE promise and planning what they would like to do for the year - lots of fun, learning, growing and supporting to come 💓
🙅🏿♀️🙅🏻♀️🙅🏼♀️International Women's Day🙅♀️🙅🏾♀️🙅🏽♀️
It is a priveldge to work with the young women of today, and future leaders of tomorrow.
Women have come a long way over the decades, but still we see first hand at SHINE how gender bias impacts the young women we work with.
We believe in a gender equal world. Where we are all free from bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
We are proud to create spaces and programs that are diverse and inclusive - where we celebrate and value each individual's differences.
No person, community or organisation can create change on their own - let's work together and
🕯️Candle Ceremony 🕯️
the SHINE candle ceremony is a moment for each girl to reflect. To remember to be honest, trust one another, and to respect every girls story.
Every single person has a story, that makes them special and unique. In SHINE, no matter what your story is, we respect you, care for you, and believe in you 💖💖
It has been a busy few weeks with our SHIMMER and SHINE programs officially starting. We are so excited to be welcoming new students this year, while getting to see our previous students grow over another year 🌱
Our Shine students at Champion Bay Senior High School have been busy learning all things hygiene this week - here the girls are enjoying a special face mask to finish off their day 💆🏽♀️

How time flies when you are having fun ⏰✈️
We can't believe it is only one more week until school is back and we can start creating some special memories with the Shine girls for 2022.
Here we have the Mount Magnet Shine girls on their Shimmer Sleepover last year. It was jam packed with a yummy dinner from Ramelius Resources , a visit to the kind and caring Cecilia at the pool, movies and games, a visit to the Granites with Nana Lizzie, and a mind blowing mine tour, thanks to the team at Ramelius Resources 🍝🏊♀️🎥👷🏽♀️🌳
A big thank you to the amazing Carole for helping bring everything together and joining us on the camp - we couldn't do it without all your hard work 🥰
"When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind" - Dr. Wayne W Dyer 🙃
There was lots of memories made 2021 in our Mount Magnet Shimmer program ⭐️⭐️
Check out some of the memories and listen to what the girls have to say about the program 🎥🤗😍
🕯️Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours SHINE any brighter 🕯️
Introducing our Mount Magnet Shimmer Facilitator Beth 👋
A childhood dream job of Beth's, was to be a personal trainer on cruise ship, as she loved exercise and wanted to travel the world… Although she managed to do some personal training and some travelling, thankfully in today's climate she never combined the two on a cruise ship! Beth was attracted to Shine as she adored the work that we do and having worked with young women previously, was passionate about supporting them through their schooling and adolescence years, a time which can be crazy and confusing.
One of Beth’s favourite Shine memories is during the Mount Magnet Shimmer Sleepover, during the night when the girls had the music on and were all being silly together. It was just one of those beautiful moments, where everyone was having fun, feeling safe, and just being kids.
For self-care, Beth likes to run along the river or beach and loves to spend quality time with her nearest and dearest. Her one piece of advice to her younger self would be “to stress less and trust in the journey.” 🙃
