JoYoga Offering yoga classes, programs & retreats that help you relax and connect in a busy world. Hi. I am Josie, the name and face behind JoYoga.

I started practising yoga about 14 years ago. I was resistant at first, but I soon found myself on a wonderful, challenging and rewarding journey. I began to observe how the connection of movement and breath brought every aspect of my being – body, mind, emotions – together. And the practice continues. Yoga is a very personal experience and the term 'yoga' can mean different things to different pe

ople. Whether you are new to yoga or familiar with the practice, we encourage you to find a yoga style and the resources that are suited to your needs and abilities. At its best, yoga is the integration of different parts of the self – the physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual. We all have different ways to get there and we invite you to find your way. Ranging from regular articles, webinars, online programs, workshops and a variety of yoga classes, I'll aim to offer you a plethora of resources to support you.

Yoga allows you to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life, where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit the broken pieces together.

Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.

Yoga allows you to find a new kind of freedom that you may not have known even existed.

To a yogi, freedom implies not being battered by the dualities of life, its ups and downs, its pleasures and its suffering. It implies equanimity and ultimately that there is an inner serene core of one's being that is never out of touch with the unchanging, eternal infinite. — B.K.S. Iyengar

After taking some time away on maternity leave, I’m now excited & extremely happy to be teaching at again 🌿🧘‍♀️

It’s been wonderful to be back in the studio, reconnecting with students, friends, our lovely community & myself 💛

The journey of being a mum to my little twin angels has been & continues to be my greatest one. One heart became three 💗

I’m slowly cracking my wings back open, reconnecting to this part within me that I remember well & humbly offering my teachings again:

Thursday, 9am ~ Yin
Saturday, 12.15pm ~ Gentle Hatha

Both classes are at Freshwater.
I would love to see you there! 🙏🏻

I hope you transitioned well into the new decade and are getting back into the swing of things. As we move through the first Full Moon in my sign Cancer, I would like to share my ‘2020 Manifesto’ and how you can expect to connect with me this year:

~ Work less, making more time for my personal life, my relationships & family.

~ Less screen-facing work, more working with people.

~ Less social media, more time spent studying (Gestalt Therapy). Instead of creating Instagram stories, I will dedicate my resources to my most important story yet - that is my life.

~ Less international travel than in 2019, more local adventures. Support & appreciation of local surroundings and communities to help them become strong & healthy again.

~ Less searching (online & offline), more gratitude for what is already there.

~ Less doing, more being. Keeping it simple and having fun.

To align with that, I will be making some changes in the way I work and connect with you:

~ My Body Soul Workshops will be held quarterly, instead of monthly. The 2020 dates and topics are available on my website, www.joyoga.net. My class timetable will remain the same and is available on my website, too.

~ I will make more time available for one-on-one work, which can include any of the areas that I am qualified or currently training in: Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Reiki, Stress Management, Lifestyle, Wellbeing Coaching & Gestalt Therapy.

~ I will be less active on Facebook and Instagram. Instead, I would like to connect with you in person. I will continue to send out my JoYoga News, which will include information on upcoming events and all things that rock my world. You can sign up on my website, www.joyoga.net.

I can’t wait for an awesome year together. May 2020 bring whatever you long and are ready for. ❤️

Christmas with my families of choice this year. So much gratitude for what is already here and yet more for what is to come. ❤️

On that note, I would like to point you to the article attached about ‘Navigating the holidays with an eating disorder’ that I was interviewed for by the lovely a couple of weeks ago. It was meant to be published in Daily Life. However, sadly the editor got sick and was unable to upload it before Christmas.

I know this is relevant. If you or anyone you know is affected, please reach out to me. I understand this area well and am happy to mentor. Thank you and for your effort and passion. x

I have been spending the last week in Rishikesh. My intention coming here was to take care of myself, restore my energy and absolutely nothing else.
~

I spent the week doing all the things that nourish and heal my body, mind & spirit and make me feel connected: sleeping and resting whenever I need and want to, meditating, yoga, cleansing & detoxing my body as I am into the sixth day of my Panchakarma treatment, wandering around with nowhere to go, spending time in nature, listening to favourite songs, reading books and talking to loved ones.
~

Having this time for myself felt weird at first. I caught my mind wanting to go into planning mode for 2020, but then I was reminded that this space is a gift given to me and important.
~

Only through slowing down and moving into stillness, I can come into my body and access the infinite wisdom that is available here. By connecting to my inner wisdom, I can align my choices and intentions with my deepest desires and full potential. A beautiful way to harness the energy of the last New Moon of the year as we move towards 2020...💛

Knowledge is acquired. Truth is revealed. – Wayne Liquorman

Juna Mahal in Dungarpur - built in the 13th century, the old palace has been untouched since. Whilst the exterior architecture is in ruins, the interiors glow with underlying beauty, exuberant ornamentation and unshakable charm. Essence and true beauty revealed over time. 💎✨
