Teacher Feature - WELCOMING CY WILLIAMS TO PENNY LANE’S 🎸

Cy Williams – Guitar & Bass

Cy first picked up the guitar at the age of 13 after starting music lessons and quickly found himself drawn to the sounds of ’90s grunge, learning songs by bands like Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Soundgarden.

As his musical journey evolved, so did his tastes. He developed a love for the classic rock of the ’60s and ’70s, discovering artists such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Beatles, before diving into the more intricate world of progressive rock with bands like King Crimson and TOOL.

Alongside his passion for performing, Cy has built a strong foundation in music theory. He has completed a Certificate III in Music Performance at TAFE and is currently studying towards his Certificate IV.

Cy regularly performs at venues across Perth with his ’70s-inspired rock band, The Copper Plains, where he is both lead guitarist and songwriter.

With years of experience performing, writing and composing music across a wide range of styles, Cy enjoys helping students discover their own musical voice. He teaches guitar and bass from beginner through to advanced levels, as well as beginner piano and drum lessons, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students can build confidence, develop solid technique and, most importantly, enjoy making music.

Ethan has attended Cert III in music performance at TAFE, and Music Artist at WAAPA.
