đź“–Book Week is just around the corner. There are so many incredible books shortlisted in the early childhood, illustration and picture book category this year, and we've picked three that we think are perfect books to borrow and share with your children this yearđź“–
1. Colours of Home, Sally Soweol Han
This heartwarming story follows a young girl adjusting to life after moving to a new country by searching for comforting, vibrant colour connections between her old and new homes.
2. Bob and Dob, Sean E Avery
A hilarious and clever take on "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," this book follows a little bird named Dob who loves getting his brother Bob into trouble. Featuring expressive multimedia artwork, it explores sibling dynamics and the consequences of telling tales with plenty of humour and heart.
3. Beyond the Shore, Mark Chester Harding
Written by Kirli Saunders and illustrated by Mark Chester Harding, this lyrical picture book invites children to step past the safety of the shoreline and lean into curiosity and courage. Its stunning digital art and evocative text capture the awe-inspiring magic of the natural world.

🎠🎡What a fun day out at Nina's Family Day Care celebrating with their very own mini Ekka! 🎡đźŽ
Coordinators Sarah and Kirsty were so lucky to attend their fair day and participate in all of the fun!
At Nina's Family Day Care, children step into a supportive environment designed to nurture confidence and belonging. From engaging play-based learning opportunities and creative arts experiences to weekly excursions to local playgroups and the library, every day is an adventure in growth and discovery!
Educator Catarina currently has a handful of rare vacancies, with availability on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Situated in Mount Cotton, her family day care home is so incredibly warm and inviting. ✨

It’s Dental Health Week, and we know so much of early learning comes down to how we model and teach habits through daily practice and engagements

🎅🏻 Christmas in July🎅🏻
The Building Futures Care Educators and Coordination team gathered together for a Christmas in July celebration and social at Sirromet Winery. It was incredible to get together and celebrate an amazing start to 2026.
We are endlessly grateful for our dedicated, passionate and hardworking team who bring so much energy, creativity and care to everything they do every single day. Moments like these remind us just how lucky we are to work alongside such an inspiring group of professionals who truly go above and beyond for our community.

Celebrating Kirsty!
Our company offers both centre-based care and family day care. One year ago Kirsty stepped into the Lead Educator role in our small family day care scheme. In the past 4 months the scheme size has more than doubled, as has the team! It has been a tremendous year with Kirsty, and we look forward to what the future will bring!

Kirsty’s heart has always been in Family Day Care. With a career spanning Long Day Care, hands-on educating and coordination, she has a deep understanding of what makes Building Futures Care so special.
Kirsty is passionate about the "home-away-from-home" feel that Family Day Care provides. She believes that by fostering strong, nurturing relationships, we aren't just providing care, we’re laying the foundations for children to grow with confidence and curiosity as they prepare for their future schooling years.
