A group of our students recently attended the Women in Trades Conference at Southern Cross Catholic College, joining students from across Sydney to explore opportunities in trade and technical careers.
Throughout the day, students heard from inspiring industry professionals, participated in panel discussions and Q&A sessions, and learned about apprenticeships, training pathways, and careers across a range of trade sectors. The Expo also provided valuable opportunities to connect with industry representatives and discover future study and employment options.
The conference theme, “She Builds. She Leads. She Inspires.”, encouraged students to consider new career possibilities and left them feeling motivated, empowered, and excited about their future pathways.
Thank you Southern Cross Catholic College for hosting this valuable and inspiring event.

We congratulate Mila Vuk-Luboya, Year 9, who has been selected in NSW Ice Hockey’s Boxall Team, to represent NSW at the Boxhall National Championship for women aged 14+. Mila will be competing in this week long tournament, from 10 to 15 July in Newcastle. 👏
Selected players for this tournament are recognised for their elite skill, teamwork and dedication both on and off the ice. Mila has been working extremely hard, with camps and rigorous training. Her focus and dedication are evident in every game she plays; tenacity and determination have helped her create some outstanding opportunities for her teammates, including last week’s incredible comeback, where she helped create opportunities for the team to turn a 5:0 deficit into a level score in the third period! 🤩
We are immensely proud of Mila's achievement and can’t wait to see her represent NSW! 💙 Go Mila!!! 📣

At Domremy College we are fortunate to have so many talented, dedicated and truly exceptional teachers. Just as we proudly showcase our students and their achievements, our teachers also deserve to be recognised for the incredible impact they have every day.
Today we are immensely proud to shine a light on Mr Greg Sciortino, HSIE Teacher, who was nominated and selected for The Educator’s Rising Stars (& School Leadership Award) 2026. This national showcase celebrates young professionals under 35 who are shaping the future of education in Australia and Greg stands among forty educators across all sectors to receive this honour.
His influence extends far beyond the classroom. Through his leadership in curriculum innovation and Geography education, he has helped design engaging, contemporary learning experiences across Stages 4 - 6, including the introduction of the College’s Global Connections elective. His expertise has also been recognised system-wide through his appointment as a program designer for , contributing to the development and implementation of the new Geography syllabus. Through his work, Greg strengthens learning at Domremy while enriching the broader educational community.
Greg’s work is driven by a deep commitment to shifting mindsets from individual ownership to collective responsibility. Our Year 7 VA students took the first step in their next major project by sketching Five Dock this week. These sketches are the foundation for the project. Over the coming weeks, they will be translating their sketches into bold, colourful Fauve inspired paintings.
It is wonderful to see their ideas taking shape on paper and we are loving their creativity. We look forward to sharing their completed, vibrant artworks soon!
