Domremy students bring home double Honours victory at the Tournament of the Minds Finals!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that two of our student teams brought home 2nd place honours on the weekend, at this year’s Tournament of the Minds (TOM) International Finals! A high-stakes, international competition, TOM pushes students to use creative thinking, enterprise, and rapid problem-solving under strict time constraints. Our students went head-to-head with some of the best and brightest and absolutely crushed it!

Our teams tackled:

- Language Literature: where the task set was to design an original radio play series to compete with short-form social media feeds for youth attention. To win over the station managers at 3TOM FM, our team had to pitch and perform three 2-minute teaser episodes live, complete with sound effects, three distinct main characters, and a seamless narrative arc!

- Social Sciences: here, studetns had to resolve a heated student council debate over a charity t-shirt fundraiser. Our team had to map out a complete strategy to source, design, produce, and sell limited-edition shirts, balancing the drive to maximize charitable revenue against the complex economic, environmental, and ethical concerns of fast fashion.

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing our school with such ingenuity, passion, and teamwork. Well done ladies.

Huge congratulations to Meg, Year 9, on an incredible achievement!

Her dedication and talent have seen her climb through the touch football representative pathway - from playing for Domremy, to representing Sydney Catholic Schools at NSWCCC level, and now earning selection in the CSNSW team to represent NSW at Nationals in the NSW All Schools Australia Championship team! Earning a spot at the national level is a testament to Meg’s athletic discipline and determination. Her hard work on and off the field continues to pay off.

We are so proud of you Meg and can’t wait to cheer you on as you take on the best in the country!

So proud of our talented students!

Throughout the week, staff and classes have been dropping by to admire the incredible works on display for this year’s HSC showcases.

The girls have worked hard all year long, and these showcases are such a deserving recognition of their hard work, creativity, and dedication. We can't wait to welcome family and friends to admire their daughters' works.

On Tuesday 25 August, our students headed to Newington College for the 2026 Socratic Summit, a day of rich philosophical inquiry, debate and collaborative thinking.

Sitting in mixed inquiry circles, participants kicked off by tackling contentious claims, practising how to respectfully agree, disagree and evaluate complex arguments.

Across four deep-dive sessions, students tackled the boundaries of morality, challenged societal norms, debated objective quality in art and music and wrestled with the ethics of censorship.

Throughout the day, our students demonstrated outstanding active listening, turn-taking and intellectual courage, leaving with one final puzzle: Is 'good' subjective, objective, or completely outside human judgment?

Thank you to Newington College for hosting such an inspiring event and congratulations to all our students for representing our school so brilliantly!

Congratulations to our Athletics Team - our students participated in the SCS Secondary Conference 2 Athletics Carnival 2026 on 18 August at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.

Domremy College finished 3rd overall for female athletes on total points.

The following students placed in the top 5 for Age Champion in their given age group:
12yrs - Eloise (equal 4th)
14yrs - Annalee (1st)
15yrs - Eisla (1st)
15yrs - Gabrielle (2nd)
15yrs - Erin (equal 3rd)
16yrs - Grace (5th)

Furthermore, an impressive 6 records were broken by Domremy students at this event! Congratulations to Eloise (12y), Gabrielle (15y), Alexa (13y) and Eisla (15y) who broke 3 records.

Well done ladies!
