They did it!! The JAG team completed their lapathon today and achieved a whopping 118 laps in one hour, pushing their teammates in wheelchairs (and on a hot day to boot!) A special mention to all of the volunteers who made today a successful event! Also to Ben for joining in and completing an impressive 20 laps! Thank you to Annie, Nick and Farmer Doug for all of your hard work and support. Well done everyone 🥇💙💛

As you can see, the JAG team are pretty excited about running laps and pushing their teammates in wheelchairs to raise money to buy wheelchairs for children in third world countries. They are learning how to work as a team and how their efforts will benefit people they will never meet. What an inspiring bunch! Donations towards their fundraiser can be made at the school office. Today the JAG team took advantage of the weather and had a productive hour getting their hands dirty. We had Annie And Carol working with the students today to get more plants in the ground and start to understand companion planting. The foundations for the greenhouse are underway and the boys worked together to clear the area around it to make more space to grow produce.

JAG was established in March 2018 as a result of an Evandale Primary Grade 6 student’s vision to install a water fountain at Morven Park to keep park users and skateboarders hydrated.

Through various fundraising events, their goal was achieved and the water fountain was officially unveiled in July 2019.

The 2019 Fundraising project, Wheelchairs for Kids, aimed to raise money for disadvantaged children in developing countries.

JAG Students were awarded Young Citizen of the year award at the Australia Day Ceremony for the work it has done so far in the community.
