Our Gardening Club students got their hands dirty today as they worked together to re-dig and prepare our garden bed for planting. The students carefully sowed lettuce, onion, and kale seeds and learned about the importance of creating healthy soil for growing fresh produce. We canβt wait to watch our seedlings sprout and see our garden flourish in the coming weeks!π±π₯¬π§

β½π PSSA Soccer β Fridayβs Big Matches! πβ½
On Friday, our students took part in their first PSSA soccer matches for the term, joining forces with Heathcote East to compete against Bangor Public School at Barden Ridge Soccer Fields.
There was plenty of excitement across both games, with students showing excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The junior team played brilliantly and came away with an impressive 3β0 win, while the senior team worked hard and showed great resilience despite going down 2β0.
Across both matches, students demonstrated fantastic communication, strategic play, and teamwork, creating opportunities and supporting one another on and off the field. We were especially proud of the way they showed respect towards opponents, referees, and the game itself.
A big thank you to all staff who helped organise and support the day. We are so proud of the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship shown by all students involvedβwell done, team! πβ½

πΆπ€ππ Celebrating Mabo Day Through Song πππ€
Families and friends were welcomed to our school this week to enjoy a special performance by our students, who proudly shared their learning of Baba Wayar, a Torres Strait Islander song traditionally used in ceremonies.
The song was taught to students by the wonderful Kurranulla mentors and was learnt and performed in celebration of Mabo Dayβa time to recognise and reflect on the significance of truth-telling, connection to Country, and the ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Students performed with confidence and enthusiasm for parents and community members, showcasing their hard work while celebrating culture, language, and community together.
Following the performance, many families stayed to enjoy a picnic on the school grounds. The relaxed atmosphere provided a lovely opportunity for students, staff, and families to connect, share conversations, and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes Waterfall Public School so special. During lunch there was also some bush craft happening, with students enjoying hands-on creativity and connection with the outdoors. πΏ
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our students on this memorable day. π
