Difficult conversations aren't always easy — but they are a skill you can get better at.

Our Managing Conflict: How to Manage Difficult Conversations and Have Your Voice Heard workshop will give students practical strategies for communicating clearly, setting boundaries, speaking up respectfully and responding more confidently when things get difficult.

These are skills you can use in study, group work, placement, employment and everyday life.

You'll also explore different ways people approach conflict through our Tortoise, Bull, Fox, Owl and Koala conflict styles. Which one sounds most like you?

👋 Community Check-In: Ellenbrook Youth Centre

When you hear Youth Centre, you might assume it’s only for younger teens — but did you know Ellenbrook Youth Centre also has dedicated sessions for young adults aged 18–25?

It’s a local space where you can connect, study, work, create and access support — or simply drop in and spend some time in a welcoming environment.

For tertiary students and young adults living locally, it’s another community resource well worth knowing about.

📚 Some study tasks are simply easier in the right environment.

Whether you need uninterrupted time to get through your readings, space to map out an assignment, or somewhere to work through practice questions, the Hub is here when you need to get into study mode. 💙

This week, try bringing one task to the Hub that you’ve been finding difficult to start at home.

📖 Deep focus — reading, research or writing
📝 Assignment planning — rubrics, structure and next steps
🎓 Exam practice — past papers, questions and revision

Sometimes a change of environment is all you need to get moving.

🌿 Protecting your energy is part of studying well.

Semester can get busy quickly — classes, assignments, work, family, social commitments and everything in between.

You don’t have to say yes to everything or do everything at once. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is decide what deserves your energy today. 💙

Set your priorities. Limit distractions. Make space to recharge. And when you need it, ask for support.

✨ Protecting your energy isn’t doing less. It’s being intentional about where it goes.

📌 Save this for the weeks when your semester starts feeling a little too full.
