WEEDS!
There's been a lot of rain in recent weeks with an explosion of weeds and little fine weather to get rid of them. This coming week will see some blue sky at last and Joe would love some help at the Grove gardens. So come along on 22 June Monday - all day from 0900 includes lunch - busy bee weeding at JCG
JCG 6 Argent St Elizabeth Grove Workshops are free but donations to support the gardens always appreciated. Please ring Joe with any questions 0402 298 409 and let him know if you are coming so he knows how many lunches to make. The soil is nice and soft with all the rain we have had so it should not be too onerous.

JOE IS OPEN FOR FIG PICK UPS TOMORROW!
Sorry the fig sale ended up being very drawn out due to circumstances beyond our control but the good news is that there is still a good selection available from the premier fig collection Australia. I (Rosanne) ended up making two trips to Lyell McEwin in the last couple of weeks: one for a bad fall on a steep ramp at a shopping centre and the second when my arm got infected with cat scratch/potting mix which was rapidly going septic! I am pleased to say I am out of danger of a nasty potential situation but garden matters had to take a back seat for a while. Joe's garden at 6 Argent St Elizabeth Grove will be open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 6 June for collection of figs ordered or you can just come with cash. $25 each or 5 for $100 for mature trees which will be fruiting next summer/autumn. PROGRESS ON SPECIAL FIG SALE
Thanks for the big response. We are trying to work out the best way of handling this efficiently and setting up a link on our Square where you can order and pay online by card. At this stage it looks like Saturday 30 May will be the pick up from Joe's garden - sorry for the wait but we have a garden club visiting next week which is taking longer than expected to prepare for. Any help very gratefully accepted. Ring Joe 0402 298 409 to arrange a time for either Wednesday or Thursday. THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF "WEEDS"
Well, Andrew is hardly a dwarf and here he is serenading our weeds which are twice as high and more than all two metres of him! WE ARE DESPERATE FOR HELP! We have a country garden group coming on Monday and both Joe's and Andrew's gardens are over run with weeds and we've been too overwhelmed to deal with them. Ongoing illness all year(barely able to walk a lot of the time)means I(Rosanne) am worse than useless and a lot of Andrew's time is gobbled up looking after me so we would love a few volunteers to help tidy up the gardens on Wednesday an Thursday. Please call Joe on 0402 298 409 so he can coordinate times for working bees. We have someone coming on Sunday to Andrew's garden so if that suits better please let us know. Sorry for the short notice. Lunch is provided and you get a free tree to take home. Love to see you there!
