๐ŸŒŸโœ๏ธ Walk of Witness โœ๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ

What a powerful and moving moment in our liturgy as our St Mary Magdalene's students led us in a beautiful Walk of Witness re-enactment! ๐Ÿ™

Watching our young people walk with such faith, reverence and purpose was truly inspiring. They reminded us all of the true meaning of this sacred journey and the sacrifice at the heart of our Easter story. ๐Ÿ’›

May this Walk of Witness stay in all our hearts as we journey through Holy Week together.

๐Ÿ… Celebrating Our Championship Race Winners

One of the highlights of any Sports Day are the championship racesโ€ฆand this year was no exception.
We are so proud to recognise two outstanding athletes who gave the races their all and crossed that finish line firstโ€ฆtwice!

๐Ÿ† Cohob took out the Girls 100m Sprint AND Girls 800m Race in style! A fantastic achievement, well done!
๐Ÿ† Arpan claimed the Boys 100m Sprint AND the Boys 800m Race with a strong, confident run from start to finish. What a performance!

โ€ฆboth getting those extra points on the board for McAuley Houseโค๏ธ

Cohob and Arpan were each awarded the Hughes Doube Commemorative Trophy, presented to them by Ged Hughes and Nick Doube. A very meaningful honour, recognising two dedicated members of our school community who have given decades of service to St Mary Magdalene's.

Congratulations to Cohob, Arpan, and all the students who placed in our Championship Races!

Sports Day 2026!

What a wonderful day we had at Sports Day on Friday! Students, staff and families came together for a fantastic morning of competition, fun and school pride that reminded us all why days like this matter so much.

All three houses; Cooloclk ๐Ÿ’™, McAuley โค๏ธ and Fitzpatrick ๐Ÿ’š, competed with real heart across the day's events. The effort and enthusiasm on show from every student was genuinely something to be proud of, whether they were competing or cheering their teammates on from the sidelines.

When the points were tallied at the end of the day, McAuley House took home the House Cup with a well-earned 855 points. Congratulations to every student who wore red today! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ†

The other big award of the day went to Fitzpatrick House, who won the Spirit Trophy with an outstanding 4,250 points. The Spirit Trophy recognises the house that best embodies enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day, and good old Fitzy did exactly that! It's a brilliant achievement and one their whole house should be very proud of. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒŸ

Thank you to everyone who made the day run so smoothly, especially Mr Morgado our Sports Coordinator. We hope every family enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed putting it on.

Enjoy flicking through just a few photos we took on the day! ๐Ÿ“ท๐Ÿ˜‰

Students were shown the skill of weaving, trying their hand a basket-making... although we ended up with more 'fish' than baskets. Whatever the shape, their smiles said it all!

At the Thriving People event, students took a moment to connect with Country, exploring native plants before picking up their pencils to draw what they observed.

Learning Kaurna Language is key to strengthening cultural identity, connecting people to the land, and supporting the empowerment of Kaurna people.

At the Thriving People event our students spent time learning how to welcome people, say hello, tell people their name, and sing 'Heads, shoulders, knees and toes' in Kaurna language.

Yesterday, our First Nations students attended the Thriving People 2026 event at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre in Bedford Park.

Experiences like this are a powerful opportunity for connection to country and celebration of culture, in an authentic, inclusive, and supportive space.

๐Ÿงก How did we celebrate Harmony Day? ๐Ÿงก

Last Friday our students and staff came to school in their brightest orange attire and biggest smiles - and were reminded of the richness that comes when we celebrate each other.

Special Highlights of the day:

* Our Harmony Day Liturgy gave us a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the gift of diversity and the importance of belonging

* An opportunity to see some of our students proudly wearing their cultural dress. They looked wonderful, and it was a moving reminder of the diverse backgrounds, stories, and heritages that make our St Mary Mags community so wonderfully unique.

๐ŸŒ Everyone belongs.

๐Ÿ’ซOur Last School Assembly for 2025

Yesterday we came together as a whole school for the final time this year. A big highlight of the morning was announcing the winner of our Mercy Cup.

๐Ÿ† The Mercy Cup is awarded to the House team that is recognised for the most acts of positive behaviour, respect, kindness, and empathy throughout the school year. As a school in the Mercy tradition, we encourage our students to focus on the Mercy values of respect, responsibility, and empathy, and acknowledge their positive actions in the hopes that they will inspire others to follow their example.

๐Ÿ’“ Congratulations to McAuley House, for demonstrating the most acts of positive behaviour throughout the year. Thank you to our House Captain, Jamie, for collecting the Cup on her House teamโ€™s behalf.
