Today we were fortunate to have special visitors attend our centre for Fire Prevention Week! 🔥 🚒

The children learnt all about the fire trucks, their role as fire fighters, watched the hose water our grass and much, much more!

What is the behaviour telling us?

Our Educational Leader, Michelle, recently participated in a professional development focusing on behaviours. From this, Michelle prepared and delivered a presentation on what she took away from the training that would align with the team, and our behaviour guidance practices. This training allowed us to reflect as a team, and in small groups on our personal bias through an iceberg analogy scenario and personality test, and broaden our understanding and knowledge of appropriate strategies and language to use when directing, observing, reflecting and documenting behaviours.

Saving resources, reducing waste going to landfill, and living sustainably are responsible changes we all need to make for a safer and healthier future.
Today, our Care Taker, Mr Brian attended a workshop on composting, worm farming and mulching. Brian was provided with the resources to adapt the knowledge learnt during the workshop, and transfer it in our early learning setting. We can’t wait to get the children involved in this new project.🪱 🪴 ♻️

What an exciting day! 🚜💛 The children had so much fun heading outside to see the diggers in action! They were fascinated watching the big machines move, dig and get to work. There were plenty of smiles, excited little voices and lots of “wow!” moments. A fun-filled experience the children won’t forget! 😊🚧

Promoting opportunities for children to explore, be exposed to and participate in literacy is an important part of the early years.

Thank you to our children and families for participating in Book Week 2026, where our children were invited to celebrate literacy in fun and imaginative ways. ✨ 📖 💭

Your donation will help recruit, screen, train, and match a “Pyjama Angel” with a child who needs them most. These volunteer mentors do more than read books or help with homework. They build trust, confidence, and a love of learning that can change the course of a child’s life.

Together, we can help children in foster care dream bigger and believe in themselves.

On Tuesday last week, team members from our Clayfield, Northgate and Samford Centres attended the National Sorry Day- Teralba Park Ceremony which is run by the Teralba Park Stolen Generation Support Group Inc.

At Capers Early Learning we acknowledge National Sorry Day as a day of remembering those children and families that were taken from their loved ones and the impact this had on their lives. This was also an opportunity for learning and reflection of how we can continue on our journey towards Reconciliation.
