• A fun and hands on sensory activity families can easily set up at home. We created our own little farmyard using simple pantry items and farm animals to encourage imaginative and sensory rich play •

• Green spaghetti was used to create “grass” for the animals
• Cornflakes and Weet-Bix represented hay and animal feed
• White rice created a soft textured paddock/pathway
• Coco Pops were used to make a muddy farm area
• Farm animals and tractors were added for imaginative play
• Children were encouraged to explore textures, move animals around the farm and create their own stories
• We talked about animal sounds, where animals live and what they eat

• Emotional regulation through calming sensory play

🐾 Wooden Pet Shop Play 🐾

Today our dollhouse transformed into the sweetest little pet shop

With our wooden animals and cosy setup, the children explored caring for their pets. They were feeding them, giving cuddles, and even welcoming customers at the counter.

We loved watching the conversations unfold as the children took on different roles, from pet owners to shop keepers

This kind of play supports:

🦴 Confidence in imaginative play

✨🪞Little Luxe Lounge🪞✨

Today we set up our very own little Beauty Bar. A gentle, play based self care experience designed to spark confidence, creativity and conversation

With brushes, mirrors and soft accessories, the children explored role play, turn taking and self expression in a fun and age appropriate way. There was lots of giggling, getting ready for imaginary events, and beautiful moments of peer interaction.

•Fine motor skills
•Confidence and identity building

🐞🐜 Bug Sensory Exploration 🐜🐞

Today our little learners enjoyed a gentle bug sensory experience designed especially for our youngest children. Using bug figures, picture cards and magnifying glasses, the children explored textures, shapes and colours in a calm, unhurried way. Children were encouraged to engage at their own pace in a safe and nurturing environment.

This experience supported:
• Sensory exploration through touch and sight
• Early language development as bugs were named together
• Fine motor skills through grasping, holding and manipulating objects
• Curiosity and confidence through child led exploration
• A sense of safety and security while engaging in play

🩺🌡️Little Doctors at Work 🌡️🩺

Our doctor set up has been a big hit! Through pretend play, children are exploring caring roles, building confidence, and making sense of the world around them. From checking heartbeats to giving gentle vaccinations, this space supports empathy, communication, and early problem solving in a playful, child led way.

We love watching friendships grow as children take turns being the doctor, nurse, and patient asking questions, listening carefully, and caring for one another

🍝 SPAGHETTI SENSORY PLAY 🍝

A fun and hands on sensory activity to enjoy at home. Set up a spaghetti sensory tray and invite your child to squish, scoop, pull and explore different textures. Perfect for messy play days and encouraging curiosity through hands on learning

• Cook spaghetti and allow to cool
• Place spaghetti into a ziplock bag
• Add a few drops of oil to bag as well as desired colour
• Close and mix
• Rinse spaghetti under cold water to remove colour residue
• Add spaghetti, scoops, tongs, bowls or cups to tray for exploring
• Encourage your child to squish, pull, mix and explore
• Talk together about textures, colours and how it feels in their hands

A simple yet purposeful activity you can offer children is reusable colouring using festive mats.
Our HeyDoodle Christmas themed mats encourage children to colour, trace and explore designs at their own pace while enjoying calm, creative play.

• Early writing foundations through grip and pencil control
