🌿☀️ So Much Outdoor Learning at Bush Kids on Sanford! ☀️🌿
Our outdoor classroom has been buzzing with exploration, creativity, movement and hands-on learning! 💚
💦 The children have loved spending time playing in the creek and engaging in water and sensory play, exploring different textures, movement and possibilities through play.
🌱 Our vegetable gardens have also been keeping us busy! The children have been weeding, caring for the garden and planting some new additions ready for spring. We were especially excited to harvest our sugar snap peas 🫛 that the children planted earlier in the season. This created wonderful opportunities to learn about how sugar snap peas grow, where our food comes from, and the importance of caring for our gardens and environment.
🏃♀️ Our outdoor obstacle courses have provided plenty of opportunities for active play, with the children climbing, balancing, jumping, crawling and navigating their way through different challenges. These experiences support the development of large motor skills, balance, coordination, body awareness, confidence and perseverance.
🌸 Imaginative play has been flourishing with beautiful flower tea parties, while our sandpit has been transformed into an exciting dinosaur world full of creativity, storytelling and discovery. 🦕🦖
🍃 We have also enjoyed quieter moments of mindfulness, using natural materials to create beautiful nature mandalas and transient art. The children carefully selected, arranged and rearranged their natural treasures, encouraging creativity, concentration and an appreciation of the beauty and patterns found in nature.
There is always something to discover in our outdoor classroom! Through gardening, movement, sensory exploration, imaginative play and connecting with nature, the children are learning with their whole bodies and developing a strong sense of connection with the world around them. 🌏🌿💚
